How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI stayed at this charming little hotel in mid-August, and I can honestly say it was one of the most magical places I have ever visited. Nestled in the middle of stunning vineyards, away from the busy shores of Lake Garda, the hotel is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. In the evenings, the vineyards glow under the golden sunset, and in the mornings, the view from the window—complete with a historic castello in the background—feels like stepping into a dream. It is exactly how one imagines Italy at its most picturesque. The hotel itself is small, with around ten rooms, but every single one is decorated with extraordinary care. The style is refined and timeless, with elegant Baroque details, porcelain figurines, and perfectly matched tableware. Everything follows a clear, consistent aesthetic that makes you feel as if you’ve stepped into a fairytale. The owner’s creative touch is present throughout the hotel, adding a personal and artistic charm to the entire atmosphere. One of the most remarkable aspects of my stay was the impeccable cleanliness. I have truly never seen a hotel kept so spotless. Every corner, every surface, and even the shower doors were sparkling clean—almost as if everything had just been sterilized. The housekeeping team deserves the highest praise: they not only ensured fresh, high-quality towels each day but even folded personal items like my hairdryer with care. I saw them several times cleaning the hallways thoroughly, moving furniture to polish every edge. The result was a constant feeling of freshness and comfort that made the stay incredibly relaxing. The pool area is another highlight. Modern, stylish, and overlooking the vineyards, it is the perfect place to unwind and soak in the peaceful surroundings. The combination of tranquility, design, and natural beauty makes it simply unforgettable. This hotel is a true gem—ideal for relaxation, rest, and inspiration. I am deeply grateful for the experience and would return in a heartbeat.

Verified reviewIt’s 5 km by a car from Lago di Garde, and for me it’s calm place from my childhood- nature, space, fresh air, nice swimming pool in the middle of the nature, breakfast in the shade of the trees
For me a little bit strange that you should order coffee and fried eggs and wait until it’s prepared, available are only sweets and a little bit fruits.

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay at the Zarabba hotel, the whole area has a unique vibe, every detail is thought out. Peaceful, clean, very friendly staff. Breakfast itself is worth the stay. 30 mins to Verona and 15 mins drive to Sirmione - great location. Overall 10/10!

Verified reviewAt La Zarabba you feel pampered. We stayed with two children and a dog. The location is perfect for exploring the area (Lake Garda, Verona, Gardaland), but the perfectly maintained garden, pool and jacuzzi are also great for relaxing. The rooms are decorated and styled in a unique way, the breakfast is delicious, plentiful and fresh. The owner, Silvia, welcomed us with pleasure, everything she did was a testament to the greatness of Italian hospitality. I recommend this fantastic accommodation to families and couples looking for romance. I will come back. Grazie, Silvia e La Zarabba!

Verified reviewWe got lucky. The owner changed our booking to a superior room, and the place was magical. Detail on detail on detail everywhere, but still keeping it classy and fun with all the dog statues around. The owner was very friendly and gave us great tips for the restaurants around.

Verified review🚨 False advertising. THREATS. Aggressive owner. Chaotic energy. Tiny rooms packed with random “rare collectibles". Zero professionalism. Making your kids cry.🚨 If you like flea market decor, random yelling, router conspiracy theories, and tiptoeing around priceless statues, La Zarabba is your dream. If you like peace, privacy, and basic respect as a guest — RUN. The owner is a woman named Sylvia (with red shoulder-length hair), and you’ll likely also meet Michaella, a waitress in her 20s with brown hair. At first, Michaella seemed friendly and attentive. But as soon as issues started, her attitude did a full 180° — she became rude, unprofessional, and even tried to lecture us, telling guests they should "wake up earlier" (two hours before breakfast ends!) if they wanted to catch breakfast. Professionalism clearly isn’t part of the training here. We booked two rooms at La Zarabba expecting a boutique hotel experience as advertised — including a private jacuzzi as listed on Booking.com. When we arrived and realized the rooms did not have the promised amenities, we refused to move and wanted to cancel our stay. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, the owner immediately began yelling at us and THREATENING TO CALL THE POLICE ON US — escalating what should have been a simple conversation into a hostile confrontation within minutes of arrival. Our kids started crying, it quickly became a completely chaos. When we reasoned with her that jacuzzi is indeed mentioned on booking, Sylvia answered (I quote) that "she does not care". We stayed only because we were dumbfounded, tired after the long drive, and absolutely shell-shocked from the "warm" welcome. Fun extra features we, as guests, didn't ask for: ** The hotel is a cramped space packed with “rare collectible items” — statues, furniture, fragile decor — all accompanied by warnings that guests will be financially responsible if anything breaks.
