How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewClassic Italian property to stay for couples. Dedicated parking on site, We loved the fact our terrace room lake facing was Fully Wheelchair Accessible! It was honestly perfect. The owner was very accommodating to supplying us a shower chair. Room was immaculate and well spaced.

The facilities are not in good conditions. The bathroom was relatively modern but with many issues, there is a lack of maintenance and low quality material used. The beds were not comfortable at all.

Like everything else around Como, extremely overpriced for what you get. Breakfast is very poor and the car parking is 10€ day for a horrible parking slot. Very difficult to park unless you have a small car.

Verified reviewFriendly staff and nice food. Good, clean and quiet room with nice bathroom. Up a slight hill to the hotel so a peaceful location. If you need to stay around Como itself then this is a good location although you can't swim in the lake here as the waters are busy. There is a Lido area on the lakefront with a small pool.

Verified reviewThere were so many things to like there. We were welcomed by friendly front desk staff and taken care of the entire time. Our room had a nice little balcony with table and chairs, flower boxes and view to Lake Como. Complimentary waters in the mini fridge each day appreciated. Air conditioning in the room. Very clean hotel with ample space for our length of stay. Wonderful restaurant included that is worth a reservation if you stay here. Elevator available. Parking on site available if you get there before the dinner crowd. (Parking is limited and tight but doable and gets crowded when dinner guests arrive). Lovely breakfast provided. The scenic walk down the hill to the lake and town center only takes about 10 minutes. Coming up, it might take a couple more minutes but it's not as exhausting a walk up as I thought it might be. Very doable.
I liked everything. The only suggestion I would offer is consider adding a blowdryer to the bathroom for us long haired ladies. We appreciated our stay here. It was the perfect place to start our Italia vacation.

Verified reviewHotel is very clean and staff were friendly with (overall) good English. Shower is good. Lunch menu was nice. Cernobbio is a cute town and the walk down to the main square and ferry took around 10 minutes.
The room was very small and the view of the lake was minimal - overshadowed by the fact it also overlooks the hotel car park and bins. We booked a quadruple room - there's hardly room to move and the sofa bed is incredibly uncomfortable and bowing in the middle. And despite booking for 3 guests, we had minimal toiletries, only 2 mugs / 2 chairs on the (very small) balcony, etc. Mini bar wasn't stocked. Internal phone system didn't work (I was trying to request an iron as not one in room). Breakfast very basic provided as a small buffet. It was only on our second morning that we were even told that we could place an order for cooked eggs from the kitchen.
Good morning, thank you for taking the time to review our property. We're not sure why you're complaining about the lack of a lake view if you didn't choose a room with one. Unfortunately, the minibar isn't stocked due to guests not declaring their consumption, but upon request, it's brought directly to your room from the bar. After your complaint, we also checked your phone, and it worked; you just had to press the 9 button as directed. An iron was provided upon request, but it's not normally available in every room. Breakfast consists of yogurt, eggs, assorted cheeses, cold cuts, fresh fruit, fruity yogurt, nuts, honey, jams, cold cuts, bread, organic cheese, pancakes, assorted cakes, freshly cut vegetables, Nutella, fruit juices, and hot drinks. I really don't know what else you'd need, but if you'd asked, we would certainly have tried our best. I don't know what your expectations would have been! Good continuation.
