Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe light over the bathroom mirror was not connected so it was difficult to see for shaving. When we checked in there was very little toilet paper. We waited over a day to get more.
Great location, large room.

United StatesThe owner needs to improve the lighting in the kitchen. One can still have energy saving devices yet have a brighter space in order to see.
The location in the Centro Historico is wonderful, although not right next to Garibaldi Piazza, it's on a quieter side near the Cathedral in one of those clean narrow alleys that make up this incredibly beautiful old Greek city, yes Greek originally. Such a wonderfully bakery, Fritz, is better than Café Roma for sure, is around the corner. One can stroll in either direction for the main attractions. My room was huge, really like having a studio apartment, which was fantastic, because I there for 6 days and could stretch out, return to somewhere home like, and either go out for dinner or bring something home (away from home) The kitchen facility was downstairs in the lower ground level.

CanadaI didn't like the steep stairs but there's nothing you can do about that. The room, while very spacious, could have used more furnishings to make it cosier. And I was disappointed that a cafe breakfast was only for the first morning, but maybe I misread the description.
The location couldn't have been better, and the rooftop view was amazing.

BrazilMy partner didn't like the shower as he couldn't got the shower head high enough for him and the floor would get wet after a shower. We wish the bed was a queen bed instead of two large singles, apart from that everything was perfect for us.
It has a great location and all the surroundings are extremely beautiful. The room was spacious, clean and lovely deco. The staff was friendly and attentive. The Breakfast was a surprise bonus as it wasn't in the pack, we had every morning in a cafe nearby. Delicious pastries and italian coffee. The cherry of the cake was the roof terrace with a 360° view of the city, absolutely astonishing!

FranceWe had no problem with the stairs but for someone with knee problems it could be complicated.
The location just across from the cathedral, right in the heart of the town and a 7 minute walk to the beach was wonderful. We had a car and it was easy to find parking a few streets away. The room was very spacious and it was charming to stay in such an old building. I also enjoyed the coffee that was available in the kitchen and taking it up to the rooftop to watch the sun come up. A lovely stay.

HungaryWe loved everything! Annarita and her family helped with everything to make our check-in and check-out easier. Thank you again for your flexibility and kindness. 🥰 The roof terrace is not to be missed, it was also wonderful to eat our breakfast there and it is also perfect for late-night champagne. I definitely recommend it, if we visit Monopoli again, we will definitely come back here.🩷

Australia1. The breakfast was really not viable for us, as my partner is coeliac (gluten free). We were told there'd be options for him at the cafe that the business has partnered with, but there was only 1 option and we would've had to pay extra for it. This meant he only got a coffee, not a coffee and a pastry option as described, and the owner didn't seem to care much about offering something else to him. They also took the cards from us, meaning we couldn't get a coffee for every morning, only one - which we didn't realise was going to be the case. 2. The clothes drying rack is absolutely tiny, and only holds a couple things at a time. We also were not comfortable having it over the edge of the balcony as it was obvious it would fall in the wind due to it's instability. I would suggest having a proper drying line installed on the balcony, or providing a bigger one for people to use inside the room - especially as the room is so big. This is particularly useful for long-term travellers like ourselves, who need to wash more than a couple small things at once. 3. If it's not already advertised - it should be obvious in the listing there there stairs up to the property are steep and narrow. It was fine for us as we're young, but it was still a struggle with our big cases - so other people with mobility issues or a bit older might struggle. For this I think it should be explained early on in the listing.
1. The location is amazing and the old town is really beautiful, especially with the church at the end of the street. It's quite easy to get lost in the back streets which is always fun in a new place! 2. The room itself was really big, which was a really nice change from lots of small rooms. This allowed us to unpack our things and spread out properly to be comfortable as we had big bags due to traveling for an extended period. The bed was really big and comfortable, which again was a nice stay! 3. The hosts were lovely and super helpful - providing us lots of information on parking, beach recommendations and food suggestions! They were extremely responsive and flexible for our check in time as well, which was really nice! 4. The rooftop is seriously beautiful, and there's ample amount of chairs up there for multiple guests to sit - as long as you're happy to get a leg workout in the process!
