How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

This property is not safe for children. The bedside table is felled down and my daught’s toe is smashed by the bedside table turns out we have to go to emergency and stay in hospital for surgery.

Verified reviewLocation! 15 min walk from the train station, 15 min walk to the Uffizi gallery and steps from the Duomo.
The room we had was very small. With two suitcases it was hard to walk. Besides the wide windowsill, there was no place to put out belongings (phone, handbags etc). The bathroom doesn’t have any hooks for towels or any shelves to keep your toiletries. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. They should consider putting less room fragrances in the hallway. The smell was too intense and caused headaches for both of us.

All features and dimensions were clearly stated in the description at the time of booking. Regarding the room fragrances, we use only two small devices, which we believe are appropriate for the space. We have never received similar comments before and regret if the scent was too strong for you. We are pleased that you appreciated the friendliness of our staff and the central location, just steps from Florence’s main attractions. Breakfast is a buffet in a small room with only boiled eggs for protein option that they bring in. Laundry service is charge per clothing item. No black out curtains. Bed was uncomfortable. It’s just a 3 star hotel stay. They don’t replenish your bath towels during stay.

All the services we offer are clearly described in the listing and are in line with what is expected for our category. Our breakfast is a small continental buffet, with a variety of items such as pastries, fruit, cereals, yogurt, and boiled eggs as a protein option. It is simple but more than adequate for a B&B. Regarding the towel change, please note that—in order to avoid unnecessary water waste and support the environment—we do not change towels daily for free. This is explained both at check-in and in the house rules, which you agreed to and signed upon arrival. • If guests request a towel change before the scheduled time, there is a small extra fee • For stays longer than 3 nights, we automatically change all bed and bath linens every 3 nights. Toilet paper is refilled daily, and if anything is missing, guests can always inform the reception—we’re here to help and happy to assist at any time. As for the laundry service, it is managed externally and charged per item, which is a common policy in most hotels and B&Bs, especially smaller properties without in-house laundry facilities. The beds were comfy and the location was excellent, very central and close to everything. The view from the balcony of course was amazing. The lady at reception was lovely, so friendly and helpful.

Verified reviewAbsolutely loved the location....couldn't have been better and at a relatively reasonable cost given the location and view of the Duomo from the room. It is also in close walking distance to the Pizza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. Before getting there, we were advised that, due to air conditioning issues, they moved us from our deluxe room to a superior room with view of Duomo. We were fortunate to get this beautiful room that was very clean and with beautiful gold trim and purple colors. The twin beds we requested were comfortable. We liked the newness of the bathroom, esp the nice wide ledge where we could put our stuff. Breakfast was included, but we only opted to use it 2 out of the 3 days we stayed there. Since the dining room was under renovation, Alejandra was kind enough to run for groceries and provide us with everything we asked for the night before (juices, water bottles, bananas, yogurts, bread, meat, cheese). Loved that we could see the Duomo clearly from the rooftop.
The room door could only open partially due to what I believe is a defect with the door (should be easy fix by trimming it down so the bottom doesn run into the floor). Bigger folks may not get through the door too well.
