Highly recommended this place, is within walking distance to the lake and public transport is at the door. The host is exceptional, very friendly, and helpful. Will definitely stay here again!

I stayed here with one of my bestfriends and we were really happy with everything. The place is located in a beautiful little town – the surroundings are absolutely lovely! It’s also super convenient: bus stop, shop, and the lakeside are all very close by. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, which made us feel really welcome. Breakfast was tasty and more than enough to start the day. Even though the bathroom was shared it wasn’t a problem at all – we never had to wait, everything was clean and well-organized. We were completely satisfied with our stay and would definitely recommend this place to anyone! 😊

Its useful to study the time and schedule for the buses and trains. We got a little tired waitinf too much to be able tô come back because of the connections.

Everything was perfect! Good beds, everything clean, great staff (Martina is great and quick to answer!), good location, in front of the bus stop and train station. Nice breakfast. Eurospin Very close. I would bê back for sure!

The location is across from the train tracks and next to a very busy road. However, a short walk and you will find the river and a lot of nice restaurants.

There’s nothing to complain about. But a few things. In case , you are coming to visit lake Como for a day , Valmadrera is not for you. Go directly to Bellagio , Como or wherever from Milan or elsewhere. Valmadrera is at one end of lake Como. We wanted to spend 3 nights in lake Como area and a stay in Valmadrera town at this property saved us a lot of money. We could easily catch a train everyday to visit other lake Como towns( within 45minutes- 1,1/2 hours ride away) and return back in the evening. This is a family run property with shared bathroom. But this never became a problem. All 4 families were extremely accommodating and one never felt the bathroom was shared. We were comfortable with the basic coffee and croissant breakfast as I don’t believe a sumptuous breakfast spread should govern your stay decisions.

The location is excellent! A 5 minute bus ride from the Lecco bus and train station. There’s a metro station just across the property but be warned it’s not in use anymore. The property is walking distance from a Lake Como area where you can spend the evening in beautiful ambience. We were on a 3 day trip to visit Lake Como towns like Como , Varenna , Bellagio etc.The location of Valmadrera is at one end of the lake. But, the rates of this property are very reasonable and cannot be matched in other lake Como towns.Besides , you can experience lake Como within walking distance ! Also, Lecco has connecting trains to every lake Como town. The family managing the property is super helpful, though only the young lady ( daughter ) can manage English. They even offered to drop us at Lecco train station at the end of our stay, which was touching.

Wonderful breakfast, wonderful staff , and very clean and tidy both room and bathroom. Really exceeded our expectations. Location was as we knew a bus ride from Lecco town. Note that the buses are often delayed and cash only, however we ended up taking the scenic walk home both evenings which were only 35 minutes. Recommend!

Noise levels at night were occasionally high because of the highway next to the accommodation, which might be distractive for light sleepers.

The room was simple but clean and comfortable. The shared bathroom was well-cleaned and provided all the essentials for our stay. The door in the bathroom can be locked. The staff was very friendly, helping us and informing us about the place. The breakfast was delicious and a great boost to start our day. What's more, the bus stop to Lecco is exactly next to this accommodation and it takes around 5 minutes to arrive at the central train station in Lecco. Martina was also very helpful with her instructions and flexible with late check-in.

If you prefer a heavy breakfast, you can always visit the grocery store Eurospin, 5 min walk. For dining you'll need to go to Lecco, only a few pizzerias close by in Valmadrera or order in, e.g. Glovo works.

Very welcoming crew! A couple of km off Lecco center, so nice and calm. Public transportation available (train/bus). The 3 rooms available should all be on the garden side, less traffic noise, we heard nothing and the restaurant/bar was not open during our stay. Great value for money! Spacious room with large bed, little table+chairs, spacious closets and bathroom. Delicious cappucino! If you came to hike; there's a somewhat steep trail to San Tommaso, 1,5-2km from Luppolo to the start. A very beautiful park closeby, Parco comunale Rio Torto with an outfoor gym and a pond with a turtle! Nice for picnics or a good workout.

The place is exactly as it's shown in the pictures. The young lady at the reception was really helpful and kind. The highlight was the old granny :) she was so nice to us. We would definitely like to come back and stay at this place they literally make you feel at home. The entire area is very clean. The bathroom was shared, but it was extremely clean, and they kept there everything you needed.

Absolutely lovely little place, lovely location not too far from Lecco but far enough away. Good views, lovely little terrace. Right by the train station (although not running has regular busses) and also close to supermarket. Staff were absolutely lovely. Only stayed 1 night but would stay again!

The bedroom and the bathroom were clean. The bus station is in front of the house. For us their breakfast was not enough, but you can choose some extras (cheese,salami,bread plateau) for 5€ and that is ok. The staff was very nice.

The rooms are located on the second floor, the access to it is only by stairs, so if you have big suitcase, it can be problematic to lift it. Luckily, mine was not heavy🙂.

The hotel is located very close to the train station and bus stop. The ferry is about 20 min. of walk from this place. So one can easily get to the most popular tourist places in this region. Though Valmadrera and Lecco are very nice places to stay and spend great time . The hotel is clean and they serve coffee and croissants in the morning. Not far from the hotel there is a big supermarket.

I can't say we didn't like anything. We came here looking for value for not the highest amount of money so we were conscious of the compromises. Everything was just as it's stated in the description so we can't really complain. The breakfasts were okay, although they were really sweet and maybe could've been larger.

We really enjoyed our stay, the hosts were really hospital and flexible when it comes to check-in hours. The location is particularly good, the place is just opposite to the bus stop and the train station so it's easy to commute from there.

The street that the facility is located at is very loud. It is easy to reach the facility by the train, but the walk up to it on foot is not very nice as you always go by a busy street.

The room and the bathroom were very clean. The hosts are very friendly and the breakfast are cute. The location is easy to reach by the train. Good connection to Lecco and other cities around the Como Lake. The nature around is stunning.

The walls in the room were quite thin. The doors were quite loud, you could hear when someone was unlocking/locking their room very clearly. The beds in the twin room were a bit small.

Very nice complimentary breakfast (pistachio croissant was amazing). Close to the train station and a small shop where you can buy the train tickets. Overall, it was good value for the money.

Highly recommended! Martina, Paula, and Mauro -the family who run the establishment- are super kind and accommodating. Our room was comfy and clean and the included toiletries and towels were great to have, the shared bathroom worked fine, and breakfast every morning was tasty, filling, and served with a smile. On top of that, la Tana is located in Valmadrera's main road right across from the train station and on the route of the main local bus line, so you have easy access by public transport to Lecco, Como, Varenna (from where you can take a ferry to Bellaggio, Menaggio, etc.) or further away to Milan, Bergamo, etc. Finally, the restaurant/bar is very nice: we had lunch there on our first day and it was tasty, abundant, and fairly priced. I would definitely recommend La Tana del Luppolo and many thanks again to Martina, Paula, and Mauro for a great stay!
