Reviews of La Riserva di Castel d'Appio- Charme & Relax 3 stars

Good hotel for its classification. The trip there i quote challenging though. Very narrow street going up the mountain. But the view of the coast is magnificent.

Location to view the amazing mountains and sea.

The drive to the property But worth the stress. You only live once.

Our view was exceptional. When you stay at La Fiserva di Castel d'Appio you feel like youi are on top of the world. you travel up and up a small winding road and once there you have reached peace and tranquility. We even hauled a boat on a trailer behing our Passat and we managed it. And we were so happy we did. The manager and owner greeted us in the garden knowing we were running late due to an very bad accident nea Lyon which brought us 4 hours behind schedule. The restaurant was officially closed but they still cooked us two delicious pastas. And of course accompanied by a crisp white italian wine. We were reborn; energy and spirits restored. I could go on and on but best that you visit it yourselves. It seems like it is far from the town but in fact it is only minutes away and offers so much more than you would imagine.

We did not like having a busy work schedule and therefore not enough time to relax as we would have liked. We will definitely be back.

Decor of bedrooms was dated

Stunning views, a spacious suite and super friendly staff.

The only issue was mosquitoes in the bedrooms. Otherwise, we LOVED the resort.

Screened windows to keep the mosquitoes out.

Antonello, the owner, was outstanding and attentive to service. He even drove us to the train station when we had difficulty getting a cab! Restaurant was OUTSTANDING; a wonderful surprise and provided a top 4 meal over a 17 day trip. Views from room were exquisite! Enjoyed having a sunset bottle of wine and appetizers brought to our room. Enjoyed the pool — loved the “old school” feel.

Only “issue” — and I’m stretching to say that, is we weren’t aware of how far the hotel was from town — once you’re up on the hill, you’re there to stay unless you have transportation. (Frankly that’s what I loved about the place!)

It is a perfect example of traditional Italian service and design. Some of the building has decor from the past 50 years. Our room was perfect with stunning views.

The breakfast could be improved.

Superb staff and food

Loved our stay! the view, all the meals and the staff were exceptional.

An older hotel in a picturesque location with rooms that have updated facilities. We booked a room with a balcony and were delighted to find the view exceeded our expectations. The staff were all very helpful and nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had a really enjoyed stay. Having breakfast on the large terrace overlooking the water was delightful. Free car parking is another benefit along with being sent detailed information on how to find the hotel. The alternative route from Ventimiglia is narrow, steep and very windy!

Location was good

The drive up was very windy and steep and not for the faint hearted having to contend with other drivers etc.

Pool area, view, restaurant and staff.

Beautiful hotel with a long history. Our room had stunning views of the sea from different angles. The restaurant is very good, the best food we've had on our trip. The staff is friendly and helpful. The swimming pool area is very nice. Breakfast is excellent and the gentleman who made coffees was extremely kind. We really liked the whole atmosphere. Some might find the decor a bit dated but we thought it fitted the aesthetic.

The location is wonderful. Views are sensational. So beautiful. The pool was great, the kids loved it. Great for swimming and diving. A traditional hotel with old fashioned wonderful service and panoramic views that blew my mind. The icing on the cake is the restaurant, food and service was first class. Honestly, I’d 100% return.
