How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

You have your own bedroom with a bathroom, but a common entrance, hallway, kitchen - here you meet other tenants everywhere, which is not entirely clear from the description. You arrive at the apartment, where the trash cans are full, the fridge - simply inhabited by other people. At least for us an unpleasant surprise and unreliable information from the landlord.
Good morning, I think you have gone into evaluation distortion. You rented a B&B that has a 30 m2 soundproof room, with 5-meter high vaults with a private bathroom in the room and a balcony. You stayed one night and even though I sent you links to the best fish, meat and vegan restaurants, as well as the best pizzerias in Trani, you preferred to cook at home. I deduce that you felt comfortable! Otherwise you would have opted to dine out. The shared passage area is also found in all hotels and tourist villages. We have had guests from all over the world who still thank us for the hospitality and professionalism shown, as can be seen from the average of our reviews on Booking of 9.7. We are a B&B that gives our guests the possibility of using the kitchen and the washing machine as a free extra, and this should be emphasized because normally B&Bs only offer the room to sleep in. In the kitchen another room of 30 square meters with 5 meter high vaults and a balcony there is a 2 meter high Whirlpool refrigerator in which you found a nice bottle of 1.5 liters of fresh water as a welcome, and even though you didn't put anything inside, you were so picky to think that finding a refrigerator with yogurt or milk, or completely empty would have made a difference? In the municipality of Trani plastic and paper are thrown away on pre-established days and every other day, it doesn't depend on us. Two plastic bottles do you call garbage? Kitchen looked excellent, but wasn't 100% for cooking one's own meals - no wooden spoon and no means of heating plates. The breakfast was provided via a voucher exchanged at an excellent local cafe, but it only provided a croissant and a hot drink.

Verified reviewThe apartment was very comfortable, clean and Marco showed us everything we needed to know. He even parked the car for us and helped with the luggage. We got directions to all of Trani attractions and restaurants. Trani was for us a stop on the road from Salerno to Alberobello, but with the help of Marco we found the city to be very pleasent. After chaotic days in Rome, Trani was good for the soul and eyes!

Verified reviewBecause there was a big event happening on the day of our arrival, Marco arranged for us to arrive early and met us at the property and allowed us to drop off our luggage. He and Sabry also allowed us to check in early when the apartment had been cleaned. They were very hospitable and informed us about what was happening in the town that day and what other things were unmissable. The apartment was very large and was located very close to the central area of Trani including great cafes and restaurants.

He recommended some great places for dinner and was only a quick WhatsApp message away, he even recommended some places where we could buy additional travel amenities. The room was large and easily accommodated two of us. Nice bathroom. Property is only 500m from the waterfront/port area.
