It was a very spacious apartment (but not a private villa as advertised). It was well furnished and reasonably well equipped.

The villa had integrated air-conditioning throughout which appeared to have been disabled somehow. The heat was oppressive, and as the there were no insect screens on the windows, the mosquitoes swarmed in if the windows were opened. Moreover, as the villa stood on a narrow strip of land between two roads which carried heavy traffic day and night, the noise with windows open was deafening. For the same reason, the (shared) garden was unusable. The host’s representative told us when we arrived that it didn’t work and that a technician would come tomorrow to fix it. No technician arrived, and after several complaints, and only at the end of the week, merely hours before our last night, we received the message that the technician would arrive this morning “to try“ to fix it. We declined to be available. The apartment ( not a private villa as advertised) had an internal stair to the separately leased apartment on the lower floor. The baby crying down there was frequent and disturbing.
