I'm a cyclist, usually travelling alone and I want this sort of thing. If you want just a room, no breakfast, no frills, La Perla is great. It's safe, everything was clean, the bathroom was fine, warm shower, the bath towel was really big, the room had air-con and overall it suits a basic budget.

We stay at La Perla whenever we are diving in Porto Santo Stefano. It's clean and comfortable. In walking distance to the center of Orbetello and very convenient to reach the diving centers on Porto Santo Stefano by car.

We have no specific remarks. Maybe one recommendation: Since the facility has a bar, why not include breakfast in the accommodation offer?

A good place to stay with very good location, allowing quick access on foot to the city center, as well as by car to Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano. The room was not very large and had the most necessary for a short stay - a large bed, wardrobe, table, private bathroom. Parking on the street or in a public parking lot opposite the hotel. If desired, you can have breakfast at the hotel bar at a separate fee. The coffee was very good.

The value for money can't be beat! La Perla is very well located to go to Porto Santo Stefano. No fancy bells and whistles, but it's super clean and comfortable, & within walking distance of the center of Orbetello. We stay here whenever we have plans for diving in Porto Santo Stefano.

There was a strong smell of smoke in the reception area, stairs and hallways, and some smoke smell in the bedroom too.

Good value for an ensuite room just outside the old town of Orbetello. Although it was on the main road the windows are well insulated and keep out nearly all the traffic noise. The hotel is basic but fine apart from the smoke smell.

Wifi not working, no blanket, they put shampoo only once, and the receptionists were never available.

Clean shower and toilet, clean bed and bedsheets, the location was very nice.

On the first morning, to my shock, hotel staff entered my room without knocking, despite the door being double-locked from the inside with the key left in the door which I did for my safety as a solo female traveller. There were no "do not disturb" signs available. When I raised this with reception, there was no acknowledgement or apology. Later, staff entered again stating there was water ingress in the room below, but there was no visible issue in my room nor did there seem to be any inquiry to neighbouring rooms, only mine. The experience left me feeling unsafe, uncomfortable and on edge for the stay.

La Perla Hotel was very affordable compared to other options in the area and easy to reach from the train station via a direct bus. The location is convenient for accessing Orbetello, and the room, while basic, had everything I needed - working air conditioning, decent Wi-Fi, and good proximity to the town.

The man at reception was evidently drunk when my husband and I arrived. Even wanting to ignore that (which the stench in the small reception area made very difficult), I could not ignore him telling me in a lecture tone, as he registered our details, that my husband was the head of the household because he is a man. Surprised as I was of the turn of the conversation, I politely rebutted, hoping that would be it. It wasn't, as this man seemed keen that I learn my lesson, so he continued to make his point, getting louder with each sentence. I had to tell him to stop shouting at me. The whole situation was surreal, and definitely not what we were looking nor willing to pay for. We ended up leaving as we could not conceive staying at that point, and left feeling abused. We stayed elsewhere. Definitely not a place I ever want to see again.

very rude staff. we were not given clean towels, nor sheets. We have asked not to clean the room for once and they never did. We had to beg for clean stuff.

There was a very strong smell of smoke everywhere, staff annoyed and not friendly, communication through booking very unfriendly, I would definitely book something else next time, it’s dark and the atmosphere is sad, no restaurant as shown on the pictures, no comfort as in tea, coffee or a kettle - not even one on the whole floor.
