Not enough time to fully enjoy staying in this house :)) The house has sun loungers, but the sun is in the afternoon – so for those who enjoy sunbathing, you can walk or kayak to a nearby beach within walking distance. Walking to Varenna is not very comfortable as you have to go along the road, but with the hosts’ bikes, it’s easy and quick (by car, parking in Varenna can be a problem)

Very, very welcoming hosts. A very cozy house for two – with an amazing view, a clean lake with ducks that swim over to visit, a kayak. The option to grill or bike into town for dinner. Good internet. Nearby is Varenna, which is convenient for visiting villas on other shores of Lake Como, as there are regular boat connections.

It is a bit dangerous to walk to town because of the tunnels, which are very dark in places, and the sidewalk is 10 inches in places. Driving is safer and what I would recommend.

On the water literally is lovely. Very private. Cute deck to sit on and watch the lake. Fun and unusual building with water access. Owners very nice. Towns are close.

There are a few spiders which is normal because you are in nature between the mountain and the lake. Not a big problem and I still highly recommend this place.

Incredible place. Perfect hosts, very kind and responsive. They left us some delicious fruit, desserts and drinks which was so kind. The place has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable! No words to describe how great the views are and from 3 balconies you are spoilt for choice! I would easily book this place again and would recommend it to everyone! We enjoyed every minute. Thank you for hosting us!

There was nothing that could be improved!!

The host met us at the property. We had delays with getting a ferry from Como to Varenna and the host was really patient and understanding. They were also really helpful in explaining everything we needed to know and showing us around the property - it was a lovely warm welcome. We were also welcomed with treats and prosecco waiting on the balcony! The pictures on the site do not do this place justice - me and my partner like to travel around and have stayed in some beautiful places all around the world, and this is by far up there in our top 3! I did a lot of research and searching for apartments/places to stay - and no other property had views like this! It is so tranquil, there are three separate balconies. There were all weathers when we visited, and I would usually hate the rain when on holiday, but watching the storm from the apartment was just as breath taking as the days when it was scorching hot and sunny! It is so close to Varenna - it took us 15-20 minutes to walk into main Varenna town. It is also not far from Bellano - a less popular but beautiful little town that is definitely worth a visit. There you can also visit the Gorge waterfalls - which were beautiful and quaint little side street restaurants. From Varenna, you can visit all over towns by ferry with ease! I could not recommend this beautiful little tranquil apartment any more. The hosts were fantastic and very friendly and helpful - there is also kayaks and bikes for use and you can access the lake directly from the apartment which is not what you would get from most other properties! There is also a BBQ - which would be lovely on hot days :)

Nothing, the property is stunning. Helmets for the bicycles would be useful, though we may not have noticed them. We were a little apprehensive given we had to cycle through tunnels and for any rock fall from the cliffs (which closed part of the road during our stay!) As a note to people traveling by car, there is limited free parking. In Varenna, you can find free street parking on the South just outside of town after Villa Monastero but those spots are usually gone pretty early in the day (by 08:30!). The is a paid, secure car park just opposite Villa Monestero at around €2-3 per hour.

The location, right on the lake. It looks amazing from the photos but is even more beautiful in person. The property is very private, feels like it is just you and the lake. The home is wonderful and quirky with some many different parts. There is the balcony, the downstairs lounge area, the patio area just outside the main door into the home. The home is very secure with three doors for security. Although beside the road, it is very quiet inside. We did not hear any cars unless you we were outside or had the doors open. We had a hire car for our stay. There is parking available right outside the front door to the house. There are bicycles available if you would like to cycle into town instead. The WiFi worked well, no issues. Gianni and Barbara were excellent hosts. Gianni gave us a quick show and tell of the property when we arrived. The little treats and fruit were a lovely touch.

We didn’t have a car which made it slightly inconvenient to get into town, especially if the weather is bad, but the views more than made up for that minor inconvenience.

Gianni was an amazing host and we really enjoyed the welcome gift of Prosecco and pastries. The view of the lake on the balcony was truly breathtaking. We had many afternoon apetivos there enjoying the snow capped mountains and distant Italian villages. We didn’t even want to leave to explore because we felt we had the best view of the house. With that said, the towns are close by and easy to access with bikes. We will be back.

Great location, near ferry that does to Bellagio & Menaggio, Stunning views of the lake with multiple balconies, private swimming area, kayaks and bicycles to get to town. East facing so you get the sunset. The bed was the comfiest bed I’ve slept in while traveling Italy, and the owners were very kind.
