How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Have absolutely nothing negative to say, just a 10/10 recommendation to book if possible
Everything was absolutely amazing! Liga is so incredible and very sincere to ensure that we had the best stay we could have. She helped us work amazing recommendations of everything from good and hidden beaches to best gelato and book boat trip. The B&B is located maybe 5 min walk from the small centre so it’s super easy to just take a stroll in the evening to restaurants. The stay also includes a parking space very close that is spacious so you do not have to worry about parking in the small village. The included breakfast is amazing and I will still dream about Ligas home made marmalade and the croissants. The room was small but had everything needed and we could share a small terrace the two rooms as a common area and also dry towels after the beach

The bed and breakfast was great, the location was in a good spot. The staff were all so friendly and everything here was clean and comfortable, would definetly reccomend staying here. Big thank you to Liga, you made us feel more than welcome and always help us with everything what we need it.

Lovely warm welcome from Liga. Really loved her business. Place was clean, tidy and central to the town. Breakfast was lovely and a great welcome and goodbye. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Owner very sociable and kind. Excellent breakfast buffet with sweet homemade cakes and jams. Private car park. Complete furniture. We really recommend it for your holiday.

Our host was so friendly and helpful, we had a great time. The room is beautiful, and the town is such a lovely place to walk around and enjoy. Breakfast was a real highlight with homemade yogurt and jams to complement the croissants, breads, cereals, and so much more (even chocolate!). Can't wait to return!

Everything was great and the owner is the nicest person ever :) We needed to leave early to catch our morning flight and Liga offered to prepare a take-away breakfast and coffee the evening before. She also shared a lot of tips for sightseeing and lunch/dinner spots recommendations. We had a really amazing stay in La Meridiana!

Honestly I can't think of anything at all.
Liga our host was probably the most helpful, kind and accommodating host I have ever had. (no exaggeration) Our shuttle arrived into Castellemar del Golfo quite late at night and she went WAY above and beyond to get us to her B & B. Her breakfasts were always plentiful and her daily breads and cakes were phenomenal. Like so many other travellers I did get tired of the sweets for breakfast but Liga always provided eggs, meat, cheese and yogurt as well. THANK YOU LIGA and husband for making my daughters and my holiday so wonderful.

Liga was a truly fantastic host. Her European language knowledge was exceptional, breakfast quality and choice amazing and she was very helpful with recommendations. A parking space available too. She recommended taking the bus to Palermo and even contacted us to ensure we got back. We will definitely be back.

Liga is a wonderful hostess! Our room was lovely and so very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious especially the homemade pies. The town was very walkable and the food out of this world.

Little bit far from a good beach. It's about 15-20min walk. For us, there was a small selection for "salty" breakfast, but I enjoyed a sweet choice ☺️
It was very nice cosy place to stay, close to the centre. Liga was very kind and helpful. Room was suprisingly big, everything new and very clean. We enjoy it.

We loved our stay at La Meridana. Liga is so kind and helpful. The rooms are very clean and they are a great size. The breakfast is delicious and it’s clear that Liga puts her heart and soul into running this place. I would definitely stay here again!

Thin walls.
Liga! Very warm welcome. Excellent location near everything. Easy parking. Good breakfast. Wonderful cappuccino. Nice balcony to dry clothes and hang out.

Beautiful B&B with a wonderful couple managing it. Breakfast was amazing and Toto the cat was an adorable addition to the hotel.
