Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing was wrong.
Lovely little hotel right in the center of the old town, with a lovely breakfast in the nearby cafe. All rooms are named after flowers, a little old fashioned but spotlessly clean and comfortable. The air-conditioning was welcome in the heatwave in June. We very much enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

The location is wonderful, in the old part of Borgo San Lorenzo; pedestrian streets. Near shops and restaurants.

United KingdomBe aware that reception may well not be staffed during check in hours or even at the time you've indicated you will be arriving. Property was locked when we arrived and no-one answered the bell. Sign on the door appeared to be saying call a number, our zero Italian meant we messaged it but on reflection it may not have been a mobile. Also messaged via booking.com as the property had been very responsive to earlier messages sent this way. No replies, someone turned up after about 20 mins. We just sat in the sun and waited and it wasn't a particular problem for us. We might have been less relaxed about it if the weather was bad or we'd needed to get in quickly for any other reason.
Extremely pretty property in a bustling little town well connected by regional trains. Very clean and quaint room with a comfortable bed and decent aircon. Many rooms have private but external bathrooms (you get your own key to a bathroom just next to your room) but ours was up a narrow metal spiral staircase to the (kids?) bedroom above - no problem for us but worth knowing if you have mobility issues, or if you want a family room and your children are very small. Lovely owner - smiley and willing and we managed to communicate despite our zero italian. Breakfast in a cute local cafe was lovely. Property has a small terrace for sitting outside which was lovely too. Brilliant value.

United KingdomThis is the second time I've stayed at this hotel. It's charming, quaint, historic. One of a kind. Great location right in the centre of historic Borgo San Lorenzo. Exceptionally clean. Helpful owner, who although spoke little English, we were able to communicate ok. Simple continental breakfast is in the cafe next door. I would definitely return here again. It's not luxurious (no swimming pool, no tea/ coffee station...), but it's a little glimpse into a bygone era. Good value too.

United KingdomParking was a bit difficult to find - nothing to do with the hotel though.
A nice quiet room, comfy bed, an old-fashioned but functioning bathroom, WiFi working, top floor as requested (there is only first floor). Right in the middle of BSL, a short walk to the Cafe Orologio - our favourite hangin'out place there..

FranceNot very practical if you have heavy luggages. No parking near the hotel. No elevator. Near to park in the street around the city. Easy to find a parking space even in July / August.
Lovely albergo. Breakfast is offered at the next door Pasticerria at any time. Delicious! Also many good restaurants around Borgo San Lorenzo. 40 min away from Firenze.

Hong KongThe design is of course somehow outdated, but it is to be expected in a small neighbourhood hotel.
Very typical Tuscan historic hotel located in the old town in Borg San Lorenzo. The hotel has been in operation since mid 1800s. Very nicely located and surrounded by cafes and shopping. The host didn't really speak English, but was very friendly and did anything possible to make my stay a pleasant one.
