I was charged a high commission for paying the city tax by card. It was disappointing. I had never encountered something like this before.

Being close to the train station and having reception services until 4:00 PM made the check-in and check-out process easier. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Elevator has a very old system and people don't always follow the rules so you can't always use it. Water from the sink smelled a bit like sewer. It's an old building so it can be a bit noisy.

Really nice location, friendly and helpful staff. Price was fair. Nice equipments with a little fridge that was really helpful and air conditioning. Luggage storage system is nice. Size of the room was more than enough for two people. Elevator is helpful even though...

Nothing. It's an old building with a classic old elevator which was fun to use.

It was very close to the train station and so very handy, as we had an early trip out of Florence the next day. Staff and communications were great.

The aircondition didn't start immediately

Erica at the reception and the cleaning lady were very polite and willing to help us. The room was very close to the train station.

Cons: 1) Small old fashioned lift as we had to fold our infants pram everytime we used the lift. 2) No milk based coffee drinks in the afternoon or evening time. Available only in the morning. 3) Wi-Fi speed wasn’t great as it often dropped in speed throughout our stay. 4) Towels and bed sheets get replaced every 3 days for environmental reasons.

Pros: 1) Very close to the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station - 4 min walk. 2) Very close to an excellent Indian restaurant - Crown of India - 2 min walk. 3) Very sweet and welcoming receptionist Abby who explained us everything very well. 4) Big spacious room with comfortable bed and high ceiling. 5) Free water refill, coffee machine & cookies on the floor. 6) Free luggage storage after you check out. 7) Laundary facility available. You need to give 24 hours notice though. 8) Receptionist available until 4 pm. However available throughout the day on whatsapp for any issues.

Air conditioning is little bit old but fine.

It was very close to the station. I could reach the most popular places within a 10-minute walk. The room decoration was nice. Erika, the receptionist, was especially friendly. Even though I had already checked out, I was able to leave my belongings and pick them up later. The price was also quite reasonable.

A bit downside that we booked 2 single beds, but they gave us the double bed instead due to limited supply.

Just elevator is old style

The best is location,the room is big and clean. They provide glass for wine. In the morning I wake up and open the door See the man staff. They made me a cappuccino coffee.

Many positive things, simple but clean and with everything you need. Great location very close to train station and walking distance to relevant attractions. Lots of restaurants nearby. Helpful employees, gave us an extra key and held our luggage after check out upon request. Free coffee and cool water machines are a plus.

We did not realize the plastic circle on our room keys opened the iron gate so when we returned home and found a key had broken off in the lock and we had nothing to pry it out, we were stuck outside and miserable.

Excellent location, very walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. Very friendly and efficient housekeeping staff.

Great location for use the train. 5-10 minutes away from center and very kind staff. They also give us larger room since we have baby when is was available. Great value for money. Thanks

Rather noisy during the night due to Astrid Hotel guests. Confusing messages concerning check-in at ASTOR hotel/2nd floor. Finally we had check-in at the property but possible from 9 a.m. on. We received a set of keys which didn't work, it was the stand-by set....strange! We definitely preferred the lady hosting us years before.

Very central location, walkable to all major sights. The bed was very comfy and the apartment clean and modern. There is a small kettle and tea in the room with a coffee station and microwave just down the corridor. The only thing I'd say is bring warm pyjamas, the nights and early mornings are cold even with the heating on.
