Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe accommodation is beautiful! We could've spent hours looking around and marveling at all the old-timey details of the place. The host was lovely, sweet and very helpful as well as available and approachable. We really could not come up with any downsides and fully recommend anyone staying here while traveling through the area! The breakfast was great and very extensive.

Incredible host, couldn't do enough for us to make sure we had the best stay. The location is great - just a quick drive (or 20 minute cycle) into Sirmione. The room was very clean and had a really comfy bed. Marla has beautiful cats who are very friendly.... But not nearly as friendly as her! She is one of the best hosts we've stayed with. Would highly recommend to anyone.

CroatiaWe only stayed at this place for one night, but it was just perfect. The apartment is nice, clean, filled with positive vibe...a hidden gem is a private terrace, sorrounded with flowers and interesting artwork, so cozy... The host was very very friendly and made our stay even better. The breakfast was delicious, but what I specially liked is how it was served - the table setting was perfect and done with style, loved it. Overall, a very pleasant stay at Casa di Marla. Highly recommend.

Marla is the best host! It is such a homely space and she takes so much pride in it. It is a short half an hour stroll into town, it’s perfect for a leisurely trip. We feel so lucky to have gotten the chance to stay here. It’s a very nice and quiet area, a perfect place to recharge especially after a busy day in town. Thank you for having us Marla!

IrelandMarla was an amazing host and provided a lovely fresh breakfast every morning as well as delicious coffee! The location was absolutely ideal with only a 15 minute walk to the lake and the use of bikes offered by Marla. Our room was incredibly well decorated and had fantastic air conditioning. During our 10 day stay Marla provided fresh towels and sheets and kept the property perfectly clean and tidy. Marla made us feel right at home and was there to answer any questions or offer suggestions as to locations we might like to visit.

SwedenMarla is an incredible host. She went out of her way to make me feel at home. She even picked me up one day when I was stranded because busses stopped going as they were supposed to. Marla's place is beautiful and feels very authentic. Visiting La Casa Del Marla feels like visiting a long-lost Italian family member you didn't know you had. I am already planning to come back again.

AustraliaThe location was + 2km from the beach (Sirmione central) and as we didn't have a car, we chose to get to places via bikes. We were happy that we could use Marla's bikes, but the bikes were a little rusty. Overall, it was nice to cycle around the city.
Marla provided us with a very friendly hospitality & warm welcome, and she made sure we felt comfortable throughout our stay. The place was clean and the breakfast was great. We loved having good conversations with Marla over a cup of coffee. We would definitely love to come back!

The property is full of authentic Italian charm, brimming with personality just like it’s owner. We had a room with a private garden which we loved. Breakfast was different every day, fresh and delicious. The property location was perfect for what we wanted, outside the the hustle and bustle of old town Sirmione but accessible by bike (which are available at the b&b). We enjoyed riding to the beaches in Sirmione, Pescheria and San Benedetto. There are many local vineyards in walking distance to the b&b, SGREVA was our favourite. We stayed 6 nights and could easily have stayed longer. What can I say about Marla the owner, she is magic ✨ although her English isn’t strong, this didn’t stop great conversation and communication. Marla has an incredible energy, we felt immediately relaxed and at home, like she was an old friend. Incredibly kind, funny and warm. There was a bad storm whilst we stayed, and Marla went above and beyond to make sure everyone was ok, not only her own guests but other tourists and neighbours. Anyone looking for a real authentic Italian experience in Italy, away from the tourists hot spots, there is no place else like La Casa do Marla. We can’t wait to book again for next summer.

What a cosy stay! We were greeted very warmly by Marla waiting at the front entrance, we spoke very little Italian and she little English but communicated just fine. Marla kindly advised us on restaurants, wineries and outings as per her recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the place is quaint and has a very homely feel on a quiet, safe, private street in the middle of vineyards. A relief to come back to after the busyness of Sirmione. The bikes were a great way to explore instead of worrying about parking the car. We stayed in room 1 above the breakfast area, the wifi and AC worked very well, the shower had good pressure and everything was nice and clean. Would highly recommend ❤️

We loved our host, the breakfast, accommodation and the area to visit! Despite the language difficulties, Marla was amazing at explaining what to visit, where to eat and what to enjoy in the area. The bicycles provided were perfect transport to all the sights we wanted to see - with easy cycling. Breakfast was beautiful with Marla preparing something different each morning and a huge array of snacks, yoghurts, drinks available as well. Accommodation was lovely: filled with countryside antiquities, full of character yet with all the facilities one would need. Amazing deep bath, great shower etc. We loved the farmhouse flavour of the accommodation, the quiet of the countryside and the flourish of birdsong at all times. Three swallows nests, six adults and an abundance of small ones in the nests kept us entertained in the courtyard. Visits to local beaches and the wonderful peninsula or Sirmione provided days of exploration. Relaxing and beautiful. We were so well cared for by our host who kindly picked us up and delivered us back to the station. Her guidance for places to see was so helpful and her vibrant energy and desire to make our stay wonderful will stay with us for a long time.
