Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing.
This is a wonderful location. Luca, the owner met us from the taxi and took us to the apartment personally. He explained all the local sights and attractions and where the local people go rather than following the tourist trail. The apartments (we stayed in two) were wonderful and touches like a bottle of wine waiting for us made it more special. The communications from the moment the apartment was booked to the taxi Luca booked for us to take us to the station were first rate.... and first rate is what this trip was.

The location is excellent for visiting the points of interest in Ortigia and is close to many restaurants and bars. It is also very close to a bus stop and a small beach. Host among the kindest and most helpful we have ever met. The apartment is very well equipped with a suberb terrace for watching the sun go down. Would definitely recommend.

United KingdomNothing worth mentioning
The property and Luca, the host, exceeded our expectations. In the heart of Ortigia the property is convenient for the "touristy" areas, but quiet for living. The terrace gave an added dimension to enjoying the climate. Luca went out of his way to answer all our queries, speaks good English and very friendly. I would unreservedly recommend this flat.

United KingdomWe loved our stay here! The apartment was very sweet and comfortable with thoughtful touches, and offered us everything we needed for a relaxing (and very well located) week in Ortigia. Luca is the friendliest host, knowledgeable and helpful with all of our arrangements and questions, and had some great suggestions for places to visit, places to eat, etc. And the homemade tart was amazing! Heartily recommended!

The location was perfect, just a short walk from small city beaches, great restaurants, and shopping. Our host was incredibly kind and thoughtful, always available and eager to help with anything we needed. We loved our stay here! This is a quirky apartment in a perfect location close to the sea. It was well equipped, clean and comfortable. It was lovely to have a terrace where we spent a lot of time and fab to have the relief of the very effective air conditioning in the apartment. This is a family run business and Luca, our host, was so helpful and clearly really cares about guests enjoying their stay. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if we come back to Ortigia.

NetherlandsNothing not to like.
First of all, the property itself is fully equipped with everything you might need for a longer stay. The laundry room came in very handy. Second, the apartment is conveniently located just a few steps away from a very clean beach Calla Rossa, and close by a lot of restaurants, and a bus stop which served us well when the weather was too hot to walk and get around. Finally, the host was very flexible and communicated precisely to us so that our arrival and departure were seamless. He gave a lot of recommendations for restaurants and sights that were very helpful.

United KingdomThere is nothing at all that we didn't like.
The apartment was absolutely fantastic, it felt like staying in the home of a friend. Beautifully renovated keeping the original features and style but with everything we needed and more for our 17 night stay. The courtyard garden is stunning and very peaceful. Our host, Luca, was amazing, and was always on hand if we needed anything or just to meet for an ice cream! He was so friendly and made us feel perfectly at home. Luca provided us with a wealth of information about Ortigia and beyond in Scicily. The location is absolutely perfect for a stay in Ortigia. We will definitely be returning to this beautiful apartment and fabulous Ortigia and look forward to seeing Luca again very much.

United KingdomLuca was amazing and greeted us upon arrival, advising my partner about the parking situation which was extremely useful, Luca showed us to the apartment and gave us a tour once inside the room, he also showed us one of the other rooms which was currently empty as i had seen it online and it looked lovely. Luca made our stay much better than we could have anticipated he was extremely knowledgeable and kind throughout the entire stay. if and when we had any questions he was always quick to answer and if he didn't know he would always find out and get back to us. A super nice touch was that he left an information booklet in the room for us to use and look through if we wanted with information about restaurants that previous guests have liked as well as himself and what to see around the town. the room was absolutely lovely and felt extremely homely the bed was also extremely comfortable.

PolandThat my stay was too short ;)
Luca is the best host I have ever had during my trips. Very honest, polite, helpful and communicative. Apartment is very cozy, with almost home vibes, cute simplicity over excessive fanciness! Althought for a very tall people corrdiors maybe slightly narrow, Luca informed about the detailed layout of the apartment before the reservation became confirmed, so no one should be surprised. Location is perfect in the very heart of Ortigia, as the same time in a very quite neighborhood. Everything was simply perfect!

NorwayGreat location, great appartment, and great host. The appartment and the nice balcony really elevated our stay. When visiting Siracusa, we would really recommend to stay here, in the Ortigia part of town. The appartment had a very good atmosphere and had all the facilities we needed (plus more). The bed was comfortable and the kitchen and bath rooms were clean and functional. We were even provided with towels that we could bring to the beach (there was a small beach very close to the appartment also). The host, Luca, was very attentive and provided us with many valuable recommendations for places to eat, places to visit, things to do etc., of which we made use of throughout our stay. We would definitively book this housing again if we go back to Siracusa.

United KingdomWe liked everything! The apartment was quite expensive but was I expect it was comparable with others in the area and was a very nice apartment. The two things all travellers need is (a) a comfy bed, and (b) a good night's sleep with no noise disturbance, and we were lucky on both counts.
We were very pleased with the Casa delle Fate (the owner let us view the other apartments as I was curious) and we definitely chose the best for our needs - flat 1). The 4-room apartment was spacious and quiet, comfortable, well-decorated, charming and cute. The host, Luca, had left ample coffee for us, as well as a welcome cake and bottle of wine. As we were in a narrow side-street towards the bottom of Ortigia, our apartment was quiet and we were never disturbed by outside noise. We had a private inner patio, which was relaxing and well-furnished, and Luca had left us a folder with useful local information and maps. We arrived late on a Sunday evening but he still came out to meet us, waiving the extra cost, and would have allowed us to stay longer on check-out day except we had an early flight. He looked after us well and was keen to hear afterwards about any problems or anything he could have done to make the stay better. The apartment was also well situated in terms of restaurants and sights. We would strongly recommend this place to all travellers who are looking for a guaranteed good stay and a lovely apartment with a host who is keen to go the extra mile to look after guests.

Luca was the most wonderful host ever! He helped us arrange for parking in a near by garage, sent us directions (as it is very tricky driving in Ortigia) and greeted us with a bottle of wine and homemade desert. He shared maps and guidance on all there is to see and do in Sicily. Our apartment had a little balcony with a view of the sea and was perfectly located from Cala Rossa beach, where we swam and soaked in the sun daily. This trip was a dream because of La Casa Delle Fate and Luca!

United KingdomThe flat was occasionally a bit loud at night, but we still managed to get good sleep. The worst part of our trip was the parking. There are car parks in the old town that cost €15 and €20, and finding on street parking in the new town was a nightmare, especially in the evenings and weekends.
The host (Luca) was incredibly friendly and helpful. He gave us loads of recommendations for things to do and restaurants, and everything we tried that he recommended was very good. We also only brought European adapters, not realising they have different plugs in Italy, and Luca went out of his way to find us an adapter. He even took time out of his day to help us unload our luggage and park our car in the nearby new town. The apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed. The internet was very good (55Mbps). The location is amazing, in the heart of the old town, above restaurants and bars, and a 2 minute walk to a beach.

United KingdomThe communication with owner was informative, helpful and Luca took care that we were kept up to date at all times from booking to leaving the apartment. He cared that our overall experience would be just right. The apartment was on ground floor of a converted house with other apartments on upper floors. Everything on one level ideal for us as we have some mobility issues. A large sitting room with seating, tables, cupboards and TV. it was very comfortable.. The kitchen had everything from kettle and kitchen wear to dishwasher and large fridge freezer. Table to eat at there was also a supply of cleaning product. There were doors leading to the patio area where garden furniture, sun lounges and other seating. The garden had a lemon, orange and pomegranate trees with also a grapevine. All with fruit but not ready to eat. This was a lovely place to sit and relax. We used it a lot because it had sun and shade through the day. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed, clothes hanging space and drawers. The bathroom had modern fittings and everything you needed from soap to towels. in a separate part of the building was a room for washing and drying clothes. this was available for apartment user and was an excellent addition to refresh clothes if like use we had been travelling for few days. The garden apartment was decorated in a lovely traditional was, just like you may think your grandmother would live and it made us feel so at home. After a day of walking and sight seeing, the apartment was a welcome to come home to. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone. Particularly for anyone with mobility issues although some lower steps access is good, the older person for the comfort homelt feeling. Anyone with a child because of the garden/patio. Although the G7 agricultural expo was on all around Ortigia and it was very busy time to visit, there was hardly any noise heard.

United KingdomNothing at all, it was fantastic.
There was not much, if anything, not to love about this place. It is in superb location on the beautiful island of Ortigia, close to all of the main attractions, swimming spots and nice bars and restaurants. The apartment was well equipped with everything we could need and was immaculately clean. The roof terrace is a huge bonus to an already great property - it was a perfect spot for some dinner in the beautiful evening light, or for coffee in the morning. Luca, our host, was absolutely fantastic - so friendly and he provided us with loads of really useful information about Syracuse and the surrounding area, that really added to our trip. On arrival, he even provided us with a bottle of wine and a homemade pie, made by his mother. Luca's communication in the lead up to and during our stay was fantastic - he was prompt to respond to any questions we had and ensured our check-in and check-out process was as smooth as possible. We will definitely be returning!
