How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It’s a close drive to many small towns and good restaurants so you will definitely need a car if you’re staying here. Couldn’t recommend highly enough

Verified reviewOlmo is situated in a picture perfect location, we had breathtaking views from our room on the first floor. Breakfast was plentiful and ours was served on the covered terrace. The service was outstanding and Julia on reception was very friendly and welcoming.

Verified reviewThis villa was a fairytale in Tuscany. Absolutely stunning views and beautiful accommodations. The room was so spacious with a private sitting area, huge bathroom and comfortable bedroom all with views. The pool was relaxing and the breakfast under the pergola was delicous and a wonderful way for us to start our day of sightseeing. It was an easy drive to Montalcino and Montepulciano, which were both fantastic towns to visit with a lovely drive. The staff was friendly and so helpful. We will be back again!!

Verified reviewIt was a stand out! Beautifully upgraded and decorated. Bedding was amazing. Ambiance, location, view unmatched!
It was great but a few things can make it even better. We had to call back to the front desk each time we took our car out for the gate to open. Guests should be provided an electronic card or keypad entry. No USB chargers built into nightstand at the bed which for 2025 is essential. One room key provider for our family of 4 meant we had to stay together or leave the door unlocked - can be upgraded to electronic doors. No sheets or bedding provided for the pull out mattress. Pool closed too early and we were asked to get out. Can’t remember the time but evening dips on a hot summer night just makes sense. If you pay those rates you want complete luxury. A few essential upgrades and they have me returning along with bringing the costs back in line.

We thank you very much also for your notes and would like to specify that, regarding the gate, we have a bell to ring both sides of our gate and it is sufficient to ring and it opens As per the USB plugs, these have already been replaced by new generation of plugs and it will probably be changing again in the future; all our rooms are furnished with regular plugs and the reception can always provide additional plugs or converters. Regarding the doors, being our house from 17th century, it is not possible (and we do not want to) to have electronic doors and keys. As per the sofa bed, this was not requested for your booking (as per your request to not have it). Once the sofa is closed and used as a sofa, it does not contain blankets and sheets. Lastly, regarding our pool, the evening you were asked to come out of the pool was because it was raining and there was a thunderstorm approaching; in this case, for safety reasons, it is not possible to remain in the water. Verified reviewAbsolutely fantastic place! We stayed here for a couple of nights in a garden suite with a private patio and amazing views of the rolling Tuscan hills. We only wish we had booked for longer. This was probably the most enjoyable and relaxing stay we have had for many years. The service was truly excellent with a really good intuitive approach that made each guest feel truly special. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The large bed was incredibly comfortable, as was rhe whole ambience of the suite. It was only a short walk across the garden to the outdoor pool, which also provided a fantastic view of the surrounding hills. We would not hesitate to return to l'olmo and look forward to doing so in the not too distant future.
Only that it seems a bit 'petty' to charge for milk and small snacks in the room. Some complimentary biscuits would have been nice, but these are really quite minor niggles in our overall experience.

Verified reviewL'Olmo was incredible. The grounds were beautiful, with an immaculate pool, common areas, and views of the surrounding hills. The room was fantastic: large, clean, with lovely finishings. The real standout was the staff - they were unbelievably kind and helpful. They truly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was exceptional. We cannot recommend L'Olmo enough; it is a gem in the Tuscan countryside. We can't wait to go back!
