Bit of a walk into town, we found this fine as we like a walk but others may not.

Clear instructions sent to access property, then lovely owner returned from dog walk to show us in anyway. Room was spacious, fly screen on window so could open and let fresh air and smell of orange blossom in. Only made use of fridge in shared kitchen, but all v clean & tidy.

Good place, shame about the customer service from the owner.

The noise-proofing in the building is very poor and, with marble floors and people upstairs, this proved to be problematic. The first night I stayed there, I couldn't sleep for hours because the people upstairs were moving around - to be honest, it felt as if they were re-arranging the furniture - with constant scraping of chairs and what sounded like tables constantly being moved. The worst part, however, was that the owner did not respond to my text message, which I sent on Friday night at 10pm. I understand that it was late but it was a polite request to ask the owner to address the problem. However, I didn't get a response at all and I stayed until Monday. I find that unacceptable. A word of caution also on vacating the premises: The gate to the property is locked so if you choose to leave your keys inside when you leave, you may well find yourself locked into the premises, as I did! I had left the gate open and the key in the apartment door and then found that the gate swung closed just as I was about to leave. A high fence all around the property meant that I had a challenge to get out! Fortunately, I climbed up and a chivalrous Italian man lifted me down on the other side. Normally, I would just message the owner to check where to leave the keys if I hadn't already been instructed, however, with little prospect of a response, I didn't feel inclined on this occasion.

The bed was comfortable and the place was clean and fresh; location was good too, both for access by car from outside Lecce and on foot inside Lecce.
