How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

for the second night we stayed in a different bedroom and it was ok compared to the first night the staff asked us to write a good review because they took the fan we asked for from another room. If you know that your hostel is that warm you should have enough fans for everyone. They said the clients were going to make a bad review so we had to make a good one to make up for it. Not acknowledging their mistakes.

Verified reviewThe lounge had a nice vibe however the owners made ir look like a disco. The music was loud all night and the guests were smoking and drinking.
In our first night It was very hot, and the shower was broke. We asked for a fan, and first they told us they didn’t have one. But they end it up getting one against their will. The street wasn’t the safest.

Verified reviewIt is located near subway station
The property is really old. There were ragged walls, stains on the ceiling, and beds that shake with every movement. Also, it is impossible to lock the door with the key, so basically everyone can go inside to the room while you are sleeping.

Verified reviewthe doors closed, 24hr desk was great, the roof was functional, couches comfortable. crowd very nice there.
no AC, very warm woke up next to my cousin and in his slumber he had created a pool of sweat beneath him. he was dripping and shaking and making small nasal noises. he only snores when he is reminded of the terror of the small hot war tank he once operated, feeling immensely overwhelmed, traumatized, and taken aback to his days of war. also there was hair in the shower.

Verified reviewStaff very nice. Location is good, near metro and not far (even walking) from Milano Centrale.
The bed is not comfortable, the mattress is really thin and the pillow not comfortable. The room was extremely hot, even with the windows fully open, there is circulation of air. The bathroom, both shower and toilet need some improvements and cleaning. It has potential to be improved and become a great hostel, hope they improve.

Verified reviewThe staff cleans the rooms and bathrooms every day There is a small kitchen that people can cook There is a football table in the common area
-wobbly beds which shake every tine someone climbs the ladder or moves in bed -air conditioning non existent, only an old noisy fan which doesn’t properly ventilate the room -The manager is very unfriendly. I asked him to cut my city tax because i live in Milan and he refused to do so, even though by law he shouldn’t take taxes from someone who has a self certification + change of residency to Milan. He told me I am not here to make friends with you -they dont put hand sanitizer and shampoo in the bathrooms or at least when i was there - the garage next to the hostel keeps waking up everyone inside the hostel around 6 or 7 AM since the windows are open because there is no air conditioning
very sorry for the hand sanitizer

Verified reviewThe hostel is close to the metro station, and you need just about 10-15 minutes to get to Duomo and the city centre, also the same time to Milano Centrale train station, that is very good. The staff is very friendly and smiling. I booked a couple of weeks before my stay, and a lot of places were already sold out, so I was happy to find an availability here. And not expensive for Milan at all. They also keep your luggage for free, but only till 7 pm, after you should pay.
The room was very small (room A), with 2 beds. I had the upper bed, which wasn't stable at all and moving in all the directions when the girl under me was turning over or standing up / lying down. I think it was kinda same feeling for her. I didn't find any hot water in the private shower and had to go to the common one (with 4 showers). Also, every bed has a socket, but in front of mine, there was a metallic bar from my bed, and I couldn't plug anything in. It was strange.
