Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomShower was difficult to use as there was no screen or curtain. We had a quadruple room so four showers meant water covered the bathroom.
Fantastic gardens and swimming pool. Really great surprise! Really very beautiful. Good location for walking to Valley of the Temples and easy to walk in to town where there were many lovely restaurants

AustraliaThe shower, over the bath, is awkward and, we think, could be dangerous if you are not nimble. Parking was ok, over the road - gravel area - there was a lot of rubbish around...not the best - typical Italy though.
We had a spacious, little tired, room with a small balcony which was a nice touch. Our room was quite spacious, The pool was fantastic - with a bar and food available, in the garden. It created a great social gathering, which is nice on holidays. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly.

Albaniaat the check in the recepcionist ask us for a credit card even though we already had paid the room and it wasnt mentioned in the booking that i need a credit card but he said it was in case we spend other money and didn't pay the check. I felt offended since we were there to see Valle dei Templi and with 2 children it woud be difficult to escape.

United KingdomThe mattresses were very hard. I had expected to be able to see the temples from our room, but the angle didn't allow for this. Probably from the other building you could. They should have a communal area where you can sit and look out over the temples. Dinner was adequate.
The setting is very nice and the pool was lovely especially as we nearly had it to ourselves in the morning. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was good. The location is fantastic for visiting the temples. On a cooler day we would have walked.

United KingdomThe location is great. Practically walking distance to the temples. Received rooms with great view. It appears lots of tourists come for 1 night so the hotel was busy with mega size bus tour groups. Plus side: they arranged a separate room for those of us dining in for dinner. If you are there for more than one night I suggest dining only one of those nights at the hotel. Plenty of nicer restaurants in town. Staff were great. Rooms were clean. But the rooms and common areas looked tired and or catered for the style of the bus tour tourist. In early April the swimming pool is irrelevant but regardless the hotel did not inspire us to take a break there.

United KingdomOnly one restaurant was open and the menu was restricted and expensive so we did not eat there on our second night. In the "high season" it seems that they would have other restaurants open. More careful cleaning of the bathroom would help, to get rid of mould in the corners of the shower. Our room was in a separate building just 20 yards from the main building, which was not an inconvenience but the entrance to that building was very unattractive.
The location was excellent - we were able to walk to Valle del Templi (but note, it is a long downhill walk, and the return therefore is uphill). The room was large and had a sea view (although the sea is a long distance away). It was clean and well-appointed. We could open the windows with total privacy and no appreciable noise.

AustriaA hotel of this size should have its own off-street parking available to guests.

United KingdomReally, nothing.
It was a last-minute decision to stop in Agrigento, and we chose the hotel purely on the basis of its location, so expectations were not especially high, but we loved it! We were greeted warmly by a very enthusiastic receptionist who persuaded us to book for dinner and told us not to miss the gardens. The food was exceptional, and breakfast was also very good. Sadly, we had no time to use the swimming pool, but did appreciate the gardens and the outside bar.
