Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt was a nice place close to the Vatican City. It has a nice big patio and there are several restaurants around the house. It is close to a bus line that will take you into the city. The hostes were super accommodating and helped us get some transport for an excursion and to the airport. It is really a good place to stay. 100 % recommended.

ItalyOur reservation was very last minute l but I still would have appreciated knowing the check-in procedure beforehand. Answers on WhatsApp were sometimes single words (in Italian) more explanation would be good. The shower and sink were clean but super tiny. The shower light was a color changing bulb - I perfer a single color.
Proximity to Vatican. Fabio was friendly. Room was clean. Good WiFi. Kitchen could be used.

United StatesWe liked everything! I would have loved to have one more quilt or blanket as my husband usually steals the quilt while sleeping! 😂
The location was perfect! Right behind St Peters Basilica - it was a great spot as we were going to the Vatican the morning after we arrived! Great restaurants across the streets with loves of options and a mini market close by too! The beds were sooo comfortable and pillows as well. Love having options for pillows. Bathroom was very spacious for that size. Felt very safe in the room and location in the city. Beautiful space! Also a great location for an Uber pick up if needing to get a taxi.

United KingdomLocation good, the b&b serves as a good base for spending tourist days across Rome. It is located right behind the Vatican and requires a daily walk across St Peters Square to reach the other tourist spots. Some nice restaurants and bars across the road for a quick bite or drink.

PortugalThe outdoor environment can be quite noisy due to the property's proximity to a busy avenue.
The room and location met our expectations. The photos provided online accurately reflect what you’ll find upon arrival. A small pantry is available, which was especially convenient for preparing simple meals and coffee during our stay.

ColombiaThough there are some positives, there are a lot of problems with this property. First of all, the customer service was a shocking disappointment. My girlfriend called the property to ask them to open the door for check-in. However, the woman who picked up made us wait roughly fifteen minutes in the summer heat and told my girlfriend to "f*ck off"—literally, not figuratively. I found that bizarre because we had paid for an enjoyable experience only to be completely disrespected. That's disappointing. A professional business doesn't treat its paying customers like that. We were being patient and respectful, only informing them that we had arrived. It shocks me that she thinks this is a normal way to communicate. I advise this property to get someone with some decency, morals, and basic education in this role. Your customer service is just as important as the service you're providing. Secondly, after our check-in, we realized the air conditioning in our room was broken. To give you context, it was 37°C outside and inside. Strangely, the same woman who disrespected my girlfriend messaged us before we entered our room about the air conditioning. She had to clarify that the "air conditioning is working." That's suspicious and not transparent at all. Because if you have to say that something is working, it probably isn't. Air conditioning was promised but not delivered. I advise the property to repair or replace their air conditioning system for a more comfortable stay. Some constructive criticism to the property, but not a complaint: Although the remote had a "Netflix" button, the room only offered basic cable television. It would be a simple and inexpensive upgrade to provide a television with smart functionality. In Italy, a smart TV can be purchased for as little as €150. Given the rates charged by this property, upgrading the televisions should be an easy decision.
To summarize the good: The shower, bed, and bathroom were great. The more expensive bedroom was luxuriously decorated, with the bedsheets and wallpaper fitting the saintly theme. The shower featured a sprinkler showerhead and high-quality shampoo, which was especially appreciated due to the terrible summer heat. The location was good, being just a few minutes away from Vatican City. The man who manages the property was kind and flexible; he even offered to store our backpacks for free after check-out. He made the property a more welcoming place, despite the horrible customer service before our check-in.
