How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything. The location was exactly what I needed, that is, very central. Maria was very nice and generous. Breakfast was good. The bed was very comfortable, AC worked fine. The room was quiet. The shower was excellent.

Maybe more storage space , but we were fine
Good location, very nicely renovated and ćean facility , great host , the breakfast was delicious incl. Home made cake , we highly recommend this facility

I chose this room for one night stay in Parma because it is close train station and city centre as well. Actually closer to train station, so the district looks like you can expect around train stations but it is not so bad compared to some Italian cities. The apartment is in the 3rd floor and the room was quite huge. AC worked just fine. Fast WiFi. Hot water. Everything clean and tidy. Silent in the night, I slept well, even though the bed was bit too soft for me. Communication with the owner on whatasapp. I was given keys and instructions after my arrival. In the morning, Maria made me a breakfast according to my preference, she was friendly and helpful. All good, thanks!

Not much.
Maria was so personable and lovely! She asked when we would like to have breakfast, and then provided homemade and purchased pastries, ham/cheese, yogurt, juice and coffee/tea. She made sure we had everything we needed. The room was clean and had the largest shower we’ve had so far in Italy.! For the money, we couldn’t have asked for more.

The only downside was the room has very light curtains so the light comes in very early in the morning, some heavier curtains might work better, but it is only a very small thing
Maria was great, let us store our bags before check in and after checking out, always available on WhatsApp. The room was lovely, spacious all you could want - toiletries, towels, A/C. Breakfast was substantial - homemade cappucino, fruit, homemade cakes, pastries, yoghurt and ham/cheese and bread.

Although I loved my stay at Il Trovatore Rooms, you should come here prepared. The room I stayed in did not have carpets, which is better actually for sanitary reasons. But the tiles may feel a little cold, so I recommend bringing your slippers to be comfortable in the room. A second piece of advice is to bring your shampoo and conditioner, as there is only an all-in-one shampoo & shower gel.
The room's location is perfect, very close to the train station and all the historic places you must see in Parma. Breakfast was good, with pastry, ham, and jams. Maria very kindly prepared cappuccino for me every morning, and thanks to her, I could start my day like a local :) She was also very helpful with my questions about the buses. The room was very clean and cleaned regularly during my stay. It was also comfortable and had almost everything I needed. I would definitely recommend Il Trovatore Rooms for staying at Parma and feeling like a local.

It took me a bit of walking backwards and forwards to find it as the sign is just a little label attached to the bell on the outside door, so hard to spot. But fine once you know! I hadn't realised it was up so many stairs but again - fine for me. Neither points would stop me staying there again,
Breakfast very good - yogurt, fresh fruit and granola plus nice pastries and home baking. There were also rolls and ham for those who wanted it. The location was perfect near to restaurants, rail station etc

Great place to stay. Maria was very accommodating theoughout our stay, letting us leave the luggage before the check-in and preparing an absolutely fabulous breakfast. Top recommendation for Parma!
