How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It felt less cozy than expected and had a motel feel next to a busy road. Good isolated so no problem there.
You get what you pay for, jaccuzi and sauna. Very friendly staff

We had a great stay in Il Tiglio! The room was nice and super clean, and the place is less than 10 min from the center of Lucca. We were there during a heatwave and the AC worked perfectly, we didn’t feel the heat at all when we were there! The breakfast was delicious, it is served every morning with fresh coffee and fresh food! All the staff is extremely nice and friendly, and very helpful if you need anything! Thanks a lot!

Owners are lovely, greeted us at breakfast couldn’t do enough to help us. The room was stunning. One of the best hotel rooms we have stayed in.

The rooms were beautiful and clean, parking was perfect and the instructions provided to get there were brilliant. The bed was comfy, and the sauna and hot tub bath were a great touch. Breakfast was delicious. My only critique - there were no glasses of any kind. We want to have a glass of wine in the hot tub, but not even a water glass for the room was provided. I appreciate with the hot tub this may have been plastic, but a drinking vessel for the room would have been welcome. Instructions for where to go for breakfast were a bit lacking and not particularly obvious, but we got there in the end, thanks to how responsive Alberto was whenever I messaged him Overall, it was a really lovely stay in a good location with a beautiful room and friendly stay. I would recommend.

This was clean and comfortable for our one night stay. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful. The walk into Lucca could be a problem for some as a bit dark in the roadside

The outside courtyard is currently being worked on and will be lovely when it’s finished and a bit more enclosed to block out other houses around etc. The road access to the bnb is a busy road but nothing too concerning .
This is a beautiful renovated bnb . We had a family room and also a double room as there were 6 of us. The family room is gorgeous with a bedroom for the two kids and a bedroom for us. There is a tv in both room and there is also a lovely bathroom. The breakfast was beautiful and so fresh. With cereal, fruit , yoghurt and fantastic fresh pastries. The 2 hosts were extremely helpful and friendly and answered every single question we had . They did everything they possibly could to make our 2 night stay perfect .

OMG the mosquitoes in Tuscany! Both me and my partner ended up with 20-50 bites each after only 3 nights. Bring a bug spray with you (would be great if property had one for guests or one of those plug in electric killers for the room). We had a room on the ground floor just beside the kitchen and to be honest as nice as the room was it wasn't comfortable for us: noise late at night when other guests were coming in (between 10 pm and 3 am) and then early in the morning when breakfast preparation started. On top of that we couldn't really open the windows (ground floor, cannot just open window and leave or go to sleep). There is an AC unit in, but not sure if it wasn't working properly, or just wasn't efficient enough. Due to that the musty smell (quite common in old properties in Tuscany) and lack of fresh air was bothering us both.
This property is perfectly situated and accommodating (they have parking) if you're renting a car to drive around but also if you want to walk to the city center (10 min away from the walls). The staff is super nice and helpfull, the breakfast was great, their apricot cornettos were some of the best i had. The rooms are very nicely decorated, with old ceiling beams, tasteful furniture and great big bathroom. There is a kitchen in common area that has facilities to make tea and coffee (mostly during breakfast but it was ok to use it after time too), there is also a fridge that you can put your shopping in. There is lidl and other shops within 5 min in case you need to buy something, so that is convenient too.

The only downside is that there is no actual sidewalk to get to the property, so if you don’t have a car be prepared to walk on the side of the road like true locals!
Very well maintained property, we really enjoyed the sauna as well as the jacuzzi. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean and spacious. The staff were incredibly friendly and chatty :) The property is about 10 minutes away from the city walls.

The hosts Alberto and Elisa are very kind and friendly. They really made us feel like home. Also the room was new, clean and comfortable. Location is good with short walk to city center.
