How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe apartment is good and clean. Any queries Davide put right immediately, responds to messages very quickly, he is an excellent host. He offers to pick up and collect without question. Helps with luggage at all times. He took us back to the station, helped with purchase of our tickets from the machine, and saw us safely onto the train. Offered to help with any further information we might need after we'd moved on. Would highly recommend. Thanks again Davide. Helen and John Nottingham

Verified reviewAuthentic location in a city of general decay and dilapidation, which has it's own fascinating charm. A place to climb up and down many steps and steep narrow lanes. Grocery 1 minute. Great artisan baker (Pantifico) 3 minutes walk. Compact budget bedsit with good bathroom. Quiet at night, can sleep with raised elevation balcony door open. Great coffee machine, with capsules. Welcome rations included croissants, and cream pastries in fridge. Host reacted promptly when bottle gas supply was exhausted. Host kept us informed of other arrivals at site. Host brought change of towels. We arrived Agrigento by bus and departed by train and host provided transits for both. The beautifully restored and immaculately maintained Agrigento Central rail station is worth a visit to go up and down impressive twin marble staircases. (10 minutes walk from apartment).
Electric kettle would be good.

Verified reviewIt was clean, and not far from center.
Design of the flat reminding old parents house. Not too ugly but still old parents house .With Classic very annoying super white bright illumination which would make look every house terrible .The matrass isnt a double bed but two single beds put togheter The host Davide showed a double face On one side he gives u good welcoming sweets, and he put a parking ticket voluntarily when mine but was expiring, but after he showed an unelegant incorrect behaviour -The first night i couldnt sleep cause the water pump was extremely noisy The host said it had an unespected problem and was broken, which can happen What cannot happen was the general attitude of the host later, deciding which time in the evening was my last change to come back home and have water at all 😅i had to rush to come back to take a last shower, being the whole not without water not even to brush teeth or flush the Wc.And he also pressured me at the check out unnecessarily without the chance to take a shower He didnt offer a partial compensation for the inconvenience (a small dinner would have had been enough) and never replied to very kind and quiet message record i sent,he only blocked me and then even declared to Booking that i was never there so to take out my right to drop a review its too easy to pump a high rate like that(which i feel its totally exaggerated considering the place )if this is the strategy

Verified reviewThe host is awesome. He is so helpful. He arranged our transport to Valley of the Temples. Any issue or question, and he responded immediately. It made the stay so wonderful. The location is great. Walk up some steps, and you are on a main street with lots of restaurants/bars/shops. This street leads to tourist sights and the central plaza. The apartment has all of the basics and is very user-friendly. The kitchen had coffee, snacks, wonderful pastries, utensils, etc. The bathroom is a little weird with a bidet in the shower stall area, but the shower worked great, and there is loads of warm water. It is a fantastic value, and I would absolutely stay here again.
Nothing to complain about. The room is not huge but it worked for us. I can't say enough about how wonderful our host was and this in and of itself made the stay so very special.

Verified reviewThe host was very generous with his time. Offering pick up at the train, a drive to the Valley of Temples, many excellent suggestions and drop back to the train after stay. Super helpful. The apartment was cute and quirky, and had everything we needed, was comfy for 2 nights. Close to main street, good for wandering.
I would be wary if you have difficulty with stairs. The entrance is 2 flights up a very narrow spiral staircase and would be challenging for some people.

Verified reviewThis is a lovely self contained apartment, very easy walking distance from the railway station and the old town. It is a very quiet street, the bed is comfortable and I slept very well. The kitchen is well equipped including a coffee machine with pods supplied. Good bathroom with a shower. Davide the owner is very generous, friendly and helpful. He even gave me some lovely local cakes. I would be very happy to stay here again the next time I come to Agrigento.

Verified reviewThe owner is the best host we met, he doesn't speak English, but is an expert in Google translate. before we arived he gave us directions for the apartment without entering ZTL areas, and when we arrived he helped us find a free parking spot. In addition, he equipped the fridge with water, complementary Sicilian sweets and a bottle of wine for free! In the morning he offered to drive us for free in his car to the valey of tempels, and picked us up when we were done. The apartment was very clean a in a quite area, a short walk to the main historical street. The kitchen is fully equipped for coocking, although we went to a restaurant for dinner. .
The area surrounding the apartment is not very appealing , with some auto repair shops and business near by, although as I stated, the apartment is very quite. The shower head was crusted with calcium, but the water pressure was great.

Verified reviewDavide picked me up from train station and gave me a free ride to templi, left only after ensuring that I found the right spot to wait for the tour guide, and picked me up when I finished the tour. And brought me to the Turkey stairs with a bit fuel fee, guided me a tour there. The location is also great, few steps upstairs, the u arrive at the main street. And there are cooking tools in the room.
The bathroom was a little bit smelly, but maybe it was from outside, cuz there was similar smell on the other part of the city streets. 😅
Calling a city "stinky" by comparing it to room service seems to me completely offensive. Transeat on this opinion given by a girl with a small backpack who for two days did not have the opportunity to use a set of tablecloths for personal hygiene.

Verified reviewWhat a great location, only 50 metres from the pedestrianised centre of Agrigento and 3 miles from the entrance to the valley of the temples. Great pillows.
The circular stairs to the apartments is very tight but the host David is very ready to help.

Verified reviewAbsolutely amazing! The best service I have ever recived. Marco greeted me and offered me to drive me to and from the Valley of the Temples. He also explained a bit about the history of the coty and the temples which was ver interesting. As a bonus, he has made a welcome present (some Sicilian sweets and even some wine) im the fridge. The place is super good too! Large, comfy bed and a big room with a balcony. It lies right next to the historic centre, but is very quiet during night. I would highly recommend this place!!

Verified reviewThe hosts of this listing are amazing. Not only did they offer me the shuttle to/from the station but also they dropped me off at the Valley (I didn’t have to take a bus in an ungodly heat) and picked me up. On arrival the place was very clean and I’ve found some lovely surprises in the fridge. The bed was comfy, the kitchenette had everything you need for cooking and the bathroom was super clean. The studio is a couple minutes away from the restaurants on via Atena and about 5-7min from the station. Davide and his family went out of their way to make me feel welcome and I would definitely stay there again. Thoroughly recommended!
