How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThere were a couple of family restaurants and also a supermarket in the area and also close to the bus station. The owner took us fro the train station to the accomodation.
On booking.com the booked room was mentioned for 2 guests but the day before heading towards the location it was mentioned by the host that if 2 people will be staying that I need to pay 40 euro per day in addition for the second guest. There were a few bugs in the room, there is no fridge in the room, you have to use a common fridge that you split between 3 rooms with multiple residents. There are a lot of restrictions from when to use the kitchen and the fimeframes are between 12:00-13:00.

We reported your behavior the day before to Booking since you did not want to pay for the extra guest (two rooms and two people and then arrive with three). The room capacity is legally defined, but you have to pay for the room and the number of guests. NO HIDDEN COSTS, it’s clear you have never booked a trip. Furthermore, we offered a car from the station to the property as well as a discount on the tourist tax, which is due at the property and everything is explained in the reservation. Verified reviewIt was a clean, modern, comfortable room that looked newly renovated. The hosts could not be more friendly or helpful. A large communal area with a kitchen was just outside the room. Parking is nice and close and the host happily assisted us bring the luggage up the fairly steep hill. Great wifi.
The 5.30 pm check in was inconvenient. We arrived at 3 and couldn’t drop off our bags. Due to circumstances beyond our control we nearly missed the end of check-in at 9 pm which was very stressful. But this was our only negative and yes 5.30 was stated on our booking but I didn’t check as I just assumed it would be an earlier time as usual 🤪.

Verified reviewThe property is very nice and clean with a coffee machine in the room. The staff are friendly and communicate regarding arrival.
It’s far from the lake and all of the activities. There is a bus stop a minute away which takes about 20 minutes to get to the lake. The nearest shops to buy food or water at night are around a 10 minute walk away.

Rubbish in the parking place.
Good morning Thank you for the nice review we wanted to point out that the large parking lot where you can leave your car night and day for only 3 euros locked is by concession of the Municipality of Como is not managed by our structure (only agreement for guests) everything else does not depend on us is the municipality that provides for the collection, Maybe the bad weather did not allow the recovery work, we will report what happened. Kitchen has a smoke alarm almost directly above the stove. Even though I had the exhaust fan going it still set of the alarm when I was frying some eggs. Suggest you move it.
Good morning as you can see our kitchen is super stocked with all the accessories, it was enough to open the kitchen drawers, possibly someone brings some souvenirs. In addition, the fire extinguishing system is positioned 2 meters high from the stove of the electric induction cooker, in the roof, so he had to pay a little more attention to what he cooked. Verified reviewThe hosts carefully thought about every single detail to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. This property has everything you might need during your stay (even a bathrobe). It’s spotless clean, quiet, comfortable bed and nicely decorated room. Bus stop is within a couple of minutes walk and, in no time you are in the city center. A very nice and inexpensive pizzeria is just across the street. It’s a big luck to find such a nice B&B in Como. I highly recommend!
