Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI would have loved to have tried their homemade vegetable lasagna on Saturday but I did not make a reservation. Next time, I will be sure to send them a message ahead of time asking for dinner reservations.
The Island of Saint Erasmo is a quiet and natural retreat from the busyness of the main island and this property is a very welcoming sanctuary for those who would share its calm. Be prepared to walk either a mile or a quarter mile to get here from Caponne or Massimiliano on the 13 or 18 water lines. Be prepared to enjoy wildflowers, farmland, birds and beach on foot or bicycle and have everyone greet or wave to you along the way. The rooms are basic, clean and very comfortable and there are no televisions. There is a large porch from which you can see the mainland as well as the picnic tables next to the pizza oven. Breakfast is very well done with probably the best pancakes I’ve ever had, salami, cheese, freshly cut watermelon, juice, yogurt, lots of pastries and made to order cappuccino by Michaela and Francesca, both very kind. Giuseppe minds reception and is exceptionally helpful in his manner. The pizza oven is open from 1200-2000and dinner (with reservation only) is at 2000. There are plenty of bicycles for everyone, with baskets and locks and some have child seats, all in working order. At night, it is possible to come and go from the mainland, as the night line comes to Massimiliano, or stay in and listen to crickets and watch the night sky. Both are lovely. Also, there is a grocery within biking distance next to the island’s church—mind you it is closed on Sundays. There is also a local winery called Orto that you can visit or enjoy their wine in the bar in the property. There is a road that follows the circumference of the island and the southeast corner is lined with trails that lead to the beach and a grass pathway that is lovely to walk at sunrise. Those who are looking to find the natural landscape of the Venetian Lagoon will most likely want to stay for more than a day. And those who are looking for sanctuary and retreat could stay for a week if not longer.

PolandI didn't expect anything from this place, but it came out as one of the best hotels i have ever been to. Lovely countryside to silence your mind after a day in crowded Venice. Breakfast and pizza they offer is delicious and bikes are also a great addition to make a circle around an island.

PolandOther than the mosquitos outside, there is nothing we can say we didn't like about our stay.
We loved the setting outside of the loud city. Enjoying the nights on a quiet island in a cozy hotel. Staff surprised us by offering a free ride at the end of our stay to shorten a pretty lengthy but beautiful walk go a nearby vaporetto. First night was already amazing, the AC nearly instantly chilled our room to help us assimilate to the heat. The views on our balcony were amazing. Breakfast served fresh, pastries made every morning surprised us positively. Daily variety of breakfasts, even though mainly sweet, was just fantastic, especially the coffee made fresh to order. At the end of our stay we finally had time to check around the hotel, and we were glad we did, because we were greeted with amazing fresh pizza out of the kiln, not only cheaper than any where else in Venice but so full of beautiful aroma and taste, we should've eaten our dinners there alone.

Czech RepublicGreat stay with great hosts, everyone is helpful and friendly. The accommodation is located on the island of Sant Erasmo, where you can relax from the hustle and busy city. You can reach the accommodation by boat directly from Venice or neighboring islands. (We recommend buying a 3-day or 7-day ticket). Breakfast is served as buffet. They also make you pizza straight from the oven for a very reasonable price. It is possible to borrow a bike and ride around the rural island of Sant Erasmo. Jakub and Hana

United StatesNot the fault of the hotel, but the water bus several times left ahead of schedule and once even though we were only about 30 seconds away took off without us. Since it only stops at Sant' Erasmo every 45 minutes or so, it was frustrating to miss the bus by seconds and have to wait 45 minutes till the next one.
The staff at Il Lato Azzurro were wonderful. They all were very friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony in our room was lovely and we took advantage of the bikes to take a ride around the area. It was nice to get away from the crowds in Venice and the island of Sant' Erasmo is beautiful and peaceful.

PolandWe really enjoyed our stay on the island! The place has a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere. The breakfasts were excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. There’s a beach within walking distance where you can also enjoy a nice meal at a restaurant. The hotel also serves delicious pizza and offers drinks for purchase, which was very convenient. Overall, it was a great experience — peaceful, comfortable, and welcoming. We would definitely love to come back and highly recommend this place!

SlovakiaIf you're planning to visit Venice, and don't mind to travel a little bit further from the city, then this place is for you. It was the best and most comfortable accomodation, that I've ever stayed in. We planned a trip for three days in Venice, but wanted to stay at our rooms, that's how comfortable they were. The staff is absolutely amazing, really helpful, kind and understanding of any need you might have, the rooms are sparkling clean and the peaceful setting of St. Erasmo Island is practically to die for. The pizza we've eaten at the hotel was really the best pizza I've ever had, and for that price (8-10 euros) is practically the best price there is. I wish I could live there. Honestly. Il Lato Azurro, you have my heart forever. ❤️

IndiaMore vegetarian options for breakfast with local produce would be even nicer. Checkout at 10am felt a bit rushed :-)
Comfortable and spacious rooms, quiet calming location and very friendly and helpful staff. They even upgraded us to a nicer room with a balcony on our last night there, which was really lovely. Riding bikes around the island and joining the artichoke festival nearby was also an unexpected highlight of our stay.
