Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe somewhat difficult access is part of the charm but a good physical condition is recommended. Going by foot being a prerequisite.
Bomarzo is a magical place. Most renown for the Park Of Monsters, although Sacro Bosco is a more subtle name, the town itself is also something to behold, especially the historical centre, perched on top of a small plateau. It functions like an eagles nest and is best reached by foot since parking space is a problem. Only small cars can negate 2 narrow medieval gates. The Griffo B&B ließ at the highest level and to enter it one has to negate an extra flight of external stairs. But it is all worth it. This is a true Oasis. Well furnished with a view on the miniscule piaza at the entrance and wide vistas over the outside landscape. True Italian spirit without the normal tourist trappings. Thoroughly recommended for those with a good physical condition. Our heart still resides in Bomarzo.

SlovakiaBeautiful old house in the hearts of the city, with splendid decorations. It is well equipped, the kitchen contains all utensils. Room and bathroom were clean. We had a room with splendid view. You can reach Sacro Bosco in few minutes ( maps and books about the garden are in the living room). Elena, the owner, is nice and ready to help in case of need.

United StatesThe only thing that wasn't perfect for me was the mattress was too firm. My husband didn't mind it however. Additionally, guests should be aware there are a number of steps to get up to the property.
It was a charming spot and equipped with all amenities! The owner was very communicative and helped us with restaurant reservations and recommendations. She provided us with a fan as a special request.

United StatesEverything was great, but a note to you that you must follow the instructions to the apt. exactly as described by your host. It's a bit of a hike, but well worth it.
The B&B is in a lovely, evocative setting. While we were there, a thunderstorm swept through the region at sunset. From our window we could see the storm cross the valley, the sunset turn a dozen colors, and then fog creep across the hillside. Truly magical. We had the apt. to ourselves, and enjoyed the quiet, the comfortable bed, and the subtle medieval features still visible in the updated spaces. Elena was incredibly helpful as we tried to find a restaurant open on a Wednesday night. We had great communication and she was in regular contact to see if everything was going well. The town of Bomarzo is wonderful--with great restaurants and places for coffee & pastry.

SwitzerlandIt's declared that the apartment has no internet. However, there is a very bad phone reception and we couldn't connect through mobile data.
The place is charismatic and very quiet. It's perfect to relax and unwind. It really feels like sleeping in a medieval castle.

United Arab Emirates1. No AC (it gets VERY hot in summer, we could not have a good sleep) 2. No wifi (in 2024? come on...) 3. No privacy – it is a SHARED accomodation, and the description on booking.com does not describe this aspect correctly. 4. The property is in Bomarzo’s old city (beautiful), which is a pedestrian only area. You park the car at Parcheggio dei Gelsetti, then walk uphill for about 300 m. To reach the main entrance, you have to climb a steep staircase with 19 steps. Inside the property, there is yet another steep and angled staircase with 17 steps to reach the main bedroom. Maybe it does not seem much, but if you have some luggage, this is pure suffering. And don’t even think about taking small children with cots or strollers... 5. Breakfast is at the bare minimum (a coffee maker and a few packed items left in the lounge). 6. Considering all of the above, this property is overpriced. For us, booking Il Grifo was a mistake. We saw a lot of other accomodations in and around Bomarzo to choose from.
Nice house, beautiful location in the old center of Bomarzo. Well refurbished with taste. Fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom, big and comfy beds.
