Clean, quiet place in nature. They should be more customer oriented in their services.

Some of the staff at the reception is cold (like they're doing us a favor to do their job). The single room is more like a mediocre hostel level at best. It's minuscule, with just a bed and a nightstand. Not even a chair, let alone a little desk or table. The closet had just hangers - I was forced to keep my troller on the floor next to the bed. The window was was the north side - to the mountain when there were so many rooms available with a valley view (facing south). I would rate that room with 4/10. And value for money at 2/4 tops. I asked for a replacement and I got a normal room with a valley view from the bathroom. The breakfast lacks vegetables completely.

Very quiet, wonderful air, the walks to the restaurant. The restaurant staff was very nice! The grounds surrounding this place are huge and very well taken care of. A joy to walk.

Getting to the property is a 10 minutes winding, uphill drive, which is both treacherous and a little daunting coming back down. The breakfast room is in a completely different location to the bedroom and requires a further 2 minute drive uphill. Not ideal.

The room was adequate for the price. The breakfast facilities are very good.

Nothing really. Breakfast is a good walk or drive from accommodation

Lots to do and see. I was only there for one night out of season but will hopefully return to use bike trails. Room comfortable and breakfast and dinner very good

Low score for comfort as cooling system not working. We were told it was turned off however room was heating. Outdoor temp was 22 and room temp was 26. Extremely hot in room while trying to sleep. Could not leave door open as too many bugs entering. We did ask for heating system to be repaired however was not fixed. 4 sleepless nights

The breakfast purchased was excellent The location perfect.

The coffee machine and small fridge are in a small foyer shared with another room. A 10 minutes walk uphill to get to the restaurant for breakfast. The restaurant is very close to the chalets so convenient if you're staying at the chalets.

Amazing view from balcony overlooking the Serchio valley and Barga. Beautiful quiet setting. Great breakfast.

Checked in by friendly helpful staff . Gorgeous location and the room was large , very clean and well equipped . A car is most definitely needed as the property is a km or so above the main hotel also the breakfast room is a fair walk uphill . Not a problem for us .

The room was a little noisy in the night, because you can hear everything thats happening in the building, eg someone taking a shower. It doesnt help that the night is super quiet! so that took some getting used to. Also the breakfast was good, but no fruit or veggies of any kind - perhaps because we were offseason.

Amazing location on top of a mountain, perfect to get away from it all. Solid breakfast. There is a bike rental place where you can rent ebikes to explore the surroundings, which are beautiful.

Since the Ciocco Hotels are several buildings in a large area, we had difficulties finding the reception. Check-out time is 10 a.m., which we think is quite early, especially when in holidays. Unfortunately, the scrambled eggs in the heating container were cold.

Our stay at the Ciocco was good. The thing we liked the most was the cleanliness of our room as well as the very friendly check-in lady. The location is quite a bit up in the woods (4km from the entrance!). The area looks a bit like a country club in the U.S. The breakfast takes place in another building up the hill, so if you don‘t want to walk up the steep street to the breakfast and/or dinner, you better have a car! The breakfast was good, but you have to ask for fresh coffee (there was only filtered one at the buffet). The fresh coffee/espresso was great - and included in the price. You basically find everything on the buffet. Big plus: VERY quite, surrounded by nature. See added picture as it shows the view from our balcony.

Room did not have air conditioning or a mini fridge. It was very very hot when we stayed so these two things would have been really good to have. The staff did arrange for a tower fan for us which was really nice of them and certainly helped, especially at night when sleeping, but I do think a/c would be a nice addition. Also, there isn't a swimming pool (which is made very clear when booking so it wasn't a surprise to us) but if there was the option to have one the hotel would be that much better, or even to have an arrangement with the posh Renaissance Hotel to use their pool would be great. As it turns out we ended up using the pool in Albiano which was fine.

The location and views from the hotel are absolutely stunning. The beds are comfortable, bathroom is modern/clean and breakfast is good. The staff at reception speak great English and are very friendly and attentive. Plenty of parking also and pretty easy to get to, although be aware that you will definitely need a car, unless you like walking up mountains!

While my overall stay was satisfactory, I encountered an issue regarding the hotel's location. The information provided on Booking.com differed from the actual location as depicted on Google Maps. According to Booking.com, the hotel was described as being down the hill, but in reality, it was up the hill. This discrepancy caused some inconvenience and confusion during my stay.

The reception lady was incredibly kind and understanding. Despite my walking trouble, she went above and beyond by driving me to the breakfast location. Her genuine kindness made my stay all the more memorable.

The location is pretty remote so it can be tricky to get around without a car. However, you can easily get around by taxi or with a rented car.

    1. Bit of confusion about how to checkout. No one at reception tried ringing, someone finally picked up told me I had to go back up the hill to the restaurant that I just had my breakfast... No one mentioned it before.... 2. Nowhere does it say it's a car racing place, when we came in there was someone practicing making lots of noise and making it hard for us to get to our chalet. 3. Electric charging point not working but even if it did other NON electric cars were parked there (assuming however they were staff)

Beautiful views. Very nice breakfast, lovely restaurant with great food. Our chalet was beautiful and had everything we needed

Host who checked me in was very warm and kind, but she didn't know much about the hiking trails on the mountain. She did download and print a Google maps of trails, but it was a bit hard to follow. The resources for this could stand to be improved. One thing to note is the property is really only accessible by car. It would be extremely inconvenient to come and go using public transit or taxis. Thus with the expense of the car rental, it sort of nullifies the good deal I got on the lodging. Also, there is no pool... Somewhere online I saw a picture with a pool saying it was Il Ciocco, but it's definitely not. Perhaps it was of the Renaissance Resort, owned by Marriott and located a.bit further down the mountain.

Location provided excellent views and access to natural setting for walks (or sports if you do that sort of thing). Due to low volume of clients at this time of year, they upgraded my reservation to a room with balcony and view. Was wonderful. Breakfast was excellent - variety of foods on buffet, and food at the restaurant for dinner was delicious and not terribly expensive by US standards. Restaurant is a 10 minute walk or 3 min drive uphill.
