How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The stairs were quite narrow, but Sylvia helped us up them with our luggage.
Sylvia is an incredible host. She received us late at night and greeted us like we were family. We awoke in the morning earlier than we thought, and she was ready to make us breakfast. Plus, she was such pleasant company. Super convenient location from Rome with a stunning view. We wish we had stayed longer than one night!

Sisi is a great host, her home is very cozy, and lovely furnished, it has a wonderful view too. She prepared me a perfect breakfast and answered all the questions I had about the locality. She was also very nice and flexible in providing the transport from the town and back in the morning. Staying here during my Via Francigena was like returning home. Cats and dogs were very friendly and reminded me of my home.

As always, Sylvia is a very welcoming lady. She hasn't changed in the eight years since I was last here. Very convenient location for the VF and secure bicycle storage in the garage next to the Christmas tree!

Just to highlight- this place might not be suitable for couples unless they are veeeeery comfortable with each other- there is no door on bathroom ,it's divided from room with curtain only .
Nice room ,hosts were lovely and the house is beautifully decorated,and the dog and cat were so cute 🙃

Via Francigena Pilgrims: THIS is the place for you! Your room offers charm and privacy. Your host is so delightful and caring with kind touches throughout your stay. Breakfast is lovely before taking off the next day. You will communicate with the host to be picked up/dropped off on the VF. It’s a beautiful spot overlooking the countryside with twinkling lights around the property. I am so grateful to have chosen Il Cenacolo di Sissi!

Very accommodating host, showed us our private room and offered water, juice and wine upon arrival. Gave us keys to come and go as we pleased. We were able to use the fridge to store food and the courtyard for dinner was nice after a day travelling. Breakfast was great and we could have kept on eating there was so much on offer. Our host spoke to fluent English which helped us immensely.

What a wonderful stay, Sylvia is so very nice and interesting. She made us feel so at home, and we loved her dogs. I highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Staying with Silvia and Paolo was such a wonderful experience. Beautiful people, amazing dinner and breakfast cooked by Silvia who was so kjnd to pick me up and drop me back to the Via Francigena trail.

Nothing everything was superb
Fantastic in every way. Great value for money and a smashing host who took me back to the via Franciginia. A wonderful evening meal and conversation. Can't recommend too highly.

It's an excellent place to rest, sleep and very relaxing. Silvia is a very sweet host and makes you feel like home. I definitely recommend it.

In our room the bathroom was just separated with a curtain so it might be uncomfortable for someone (better for a couple or good friends). But other room has a separated bathroom and also a balcony. so all in all, it is a very good place
Although the house is little bit far from Via Francigena, we decided to stay here because of the previous reviews. Silvia is a wonderful host, she picked up us in the town. we ordered dinner also which was perfect! very taste and hearty. The breakfast was also good as Silvia made what we wished. The house is nice, friendly and it has an amazing view of the hills. Recommended!
