Excellent location, everything is within walking distance, the hotel is in tune with the ambience of the city, check the ceilings at the breakfast area!

Practicalities. We have stayed in boutique hotels across Europe and they all have the same thing in common: they combine ambience with the traditional hotel practicalities, i.e. somewhere to sleep, shower and (possibly) eat. This hotel unfortunately doesn't do the latter very well: the bathroom had no ventilation so all the humidity was seeping in the room, the overhead (fixed) showerhead was splitting and was gushing water to the side (rather than down) and there was no shower head to be able to check water temperature. I won't comment on the small and possibly slowest lift in the whole of Florence. Finally, breakfast was fine but having to constantly pester the (non-English speaking) staff for an extra cup of coffee was a tad tedious. Overall, the owners haven't got the details right (I can go on) on a fairly expensive piece of accommodation.

Charming old building in fantastic location, a quiet street, but just a very brief walk from the duomo or the train station. Our room was spacious, our bathroom was super modern with a great spa shower. Great breakfast with nice buffet, good juices, and eggs made to order. For Florence, and for the location, it was good value for money. We would definitely go back.

Extremely small elevator, so very slow to get people with even a bit of luggage up or down. A bit weird that the building is not dedicated for the hotel. The hotel occupies several separate floors in a building which serves other purposes too. So when you leave the reception to go to the rooms, or leave the rooms to go to breakfast, you're in a central stairway and need the card or a code to enter nother hotel section.

Excellent central location between station and duomo, in a quiet street. Charming old building, rooms perfectly renovated, spacious, clean and comfortable. Big new bathroom with spa shower. Good breakfast.

Minuscule elevator, getting to the room with 3 people and luggage took very long. The hotel does not occupy the whole building, but separate floors. Breakfast is on a separate floor and requires a slightly confusing re-entry with a code.

Very hard to get here if you are driving. Most roads do not give you access to the hotel.

I was put in a small room that was very tired. It was not what I expected from my booking & when I complained I was told the hotel was full that night. I was moved to a better room for the 2nd & 3rd night. This seems to happen regularly. The breakfast was below average.

The property was close to everything in Florence! The breakfast was great and the staff was so nice all hours of the day!

There was no vent fan in the bathroom, so when you showed the whole room got hot. This made it very uncomfortable especially at night before bed. The air doesn’t work super well because the ceilings are so high I would imagine.

The shower head in the very small bathroom shower was impossible. The shower needs a spray wand or something besides the overhead shower head.

Location is of walking distance to most attractions. There was no need to take bus or taxi anywhere. Breakfast is a la carte, and food quality was good. Glad that there is a lift to the rooms.

The room is very dark, with very few lightings. My window is facing the hotel corridor, so if I'm to open the curtains, anyone who walked past can see straight into the room. There is a window in the toilet that faces the corridor too, had to use the bathrobe to cover it (no curtains). The thermostat is quite useless, can't change the temperature. We stayed over Easter weekend, and staff gave wrong information about laundry services (told us laundry service will resume on Monday, but on Monday we were told the service is still not available due to Public Holidays, and that they outsourced the service).
