Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe room has an air conditioner, but it only works with the window open and a large tube, which makes it very noisy. Without it, however, the room becomes suffocating. The bathroom could use more thorough cleaning (there was mold and the shower door was dirty). The ventilation is not working, the shower drain is slow, and there are no supplies to wipe the wet floor. The bathroom door also needs some repair.
We really liked the beautiful 100-year-old elevator, it gave the place a lot of charm. The beds were comfortable and the location was excellent, with easy access to everything.

LithuaniaThere was no refrigerator nor coffee maker in the room (but coffee could be ordered at the front desk). The bathroom was small. I was disappointed that the room had not been thoroughly cleaned—there were dirty bags in the drawers, as well as blood pressure and diabetes medication.
The location was good, close to the metro station and within walking distance of the Duomo (30 minutes). Very friendly and helpful staff.

CanadaIt’s close to the old city but still needs 10+ minutes walking. There is no dedicated parking lot, this should be pointed out in the Hôtel information, you have to find a private parking by yourself, although the receipt was helpful for that information. You have to push the buzz button to enter the gate every time unless the gate is open for everyone.

IsraelThe wifi was noticeably slow in the way you had to wait for normal pages to load. In addition, my room had a door leading directly to reception (I think there are 3 like this). So you could hear everything going on there - checkins, the staff talking to each other or on the phone, etc. The staff did try to be more quiet after I asked, but I think these rooms should be half priced. Also could hear quiet clearly the room next to me through the bathroom wall.
Clean. Great location. Offered solo room. Nice staff.

RomaniaThe bed frames are very old and need to be replaced urgently, Some renovation works are highly recommended, although the bathrooms seem to be somehow new (guess the rooms didn't have bathrooms ensuite before).
The hotel is nicely located in an old building, close to the central station (10-15 min. by foot). It is on the first floor and although everything is pretty old, it has been clean and comfortable. The employees were friendly and helpful. A beautiful old elevator which is working well adds value to the hotel.

IrelandThe crack in the stairs going up to the hotel. Maybe a black marker at the edge of every step will help. Tiled stairs are quite slippery too
Hard to find when following Google map because it leads you to the back of the building. Accessibility of location when visiting the city, metro is just few steps away. Few restaurants and shops outside the door.

UkraineWe found the entrance gate easily, but confusion arose upon entering the courtyard, where multiple building entrances exist. We approached the door marked with the hotel’s sign indicating “first floor” in Italian, but found an old entrance to what appeared to be a private building with no signs of a hotel. This misled us into thinking there was no reception, as the sign suggested we were on the first floor, which in many countries means the ground floor. Clearer signage, such as an arrow pointing to the reception, would help future guests. I tried calling reception, but my call was declined. After realizing that in some countries the first floor is actually the second floor, we went upstairs. I was quite surprised to see two boys at reception, smiling at each other and watching us on the cameras. I suppose they were too busy being entertained to think about assisting confused guests in the corridor. As for the room, it was small and old-fashioned, the drain was clogged, and to turn on the lights, you had to step outside into the corridor, which was inconvenient.
The hotel is in a nice, lively area, a street with a lot of shops, but the windows faced a quiet street, so it was peaceful for sleeping. The location is great, and I also liked the clean hotel yard. Additionally, the price was quite low at €80 per night, perfect to stay overnight.

United KingdomWeather was relatively chilly for the season, the bed was prepared with a thin sheet and no extra blanket in the wardrobe. There was a noise issue too since my room was next to the reception. Night shift staff can be more considerate of not making noise or avoiding conversations during the night for those who stay close to the reception area.
Location was good; situated betwen Milan central station and downtown area.
