Our little dumbwaiter is there to make luggage handling easier, adding a touch of cleverness. We truly appreciate your thoughtful comment about the stairs. Out of fairness, transparency, and care, we always clearly state — including in the “Important Info” section of our Booking.com profile — that the property is located on the second floor without an elevator, and we specify the exact number of steps. Our B&B is housed in an early 1900s attic, protected by the Fine Arts authority because, in the basement of the building’s entrance hall, there is still a refuge that sheltered the Jewish community during the war. For this reason, installing an elevator is not possible: a choice made to preserve memory, which we embrace with great respect. And it is precisely this uniqueness, along with the light and peace that fill this place above, that make it so special. Preparing breakfast each morning with fresh, local ingredients is a small gesture of care—and knowing that it was appreciated warms our hearts. Thank you also for highlighting the cleanliness and attention to detail in the room. We take great pride in creating a welcoming space where every guest can feel at home. You rightly pointed out the lack of an elevator, and we’d like to explain why. Our property is located in a historic building protected by the Fine Arts Authority, as it houses in its basement an ancient shelter once used by the Jewish community during difficult times in history. Because of this cultural and historical significance, we were not permitted to install a traditional elevator. Instead, we’ve chosen to install a luggage lift, so we can still assist our guests and make arrivals and departures as smooth as possible. Escorting you to the train station was a small gesture made with great pleasure—we hope you took a bit of our affection with you, along with the memories of your stay. Regarding the stairs, we would like to point out that, in the spirit of fairness and transparency, their presence is clearly described on all booking platforms, including our website. Given the nature of the building, the structure is not suitable for guests with mobility impairments, and we do our best to communicate this clearly so every guest can make an informed decision. As for the breakfast room, it is designed to comfortably accommodate our five guest rooms. That said, as you noted, if all guests come down at the same time, there may be a slight wait to be served—but it can also be a wonderful opportunity to socialize and exchange travel experiences with fellow guests, something many of our visitors find charming and enriching. Lastly, about parking: as clearly stated on our website and booking pages, the surrounding area offers public and free parking. This is not theoretical—it is an actual and tangible reality. However, since we are located in one of the most lively areas of Lecce’s historic center, especially popular for its nightlife, it can indeed be more difficult to find a spot after 8:00 PM, particularly on weekends.
