Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBeautiful historic hotel in very good location only one block from the train station and 2 from the edge of the old center. There is a grand entrance with beautiful flowers, a pool, and an excellent rich breakfast with a choice of many local foods . My room was amazing: unusually large, quiet, and very comfortable with great light and classical furnishings.

AustraliaThere was nothing we didn't like.
The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The pool and green surrounds very relaxing with bar service. Breakfast was varied and enjoyed either inside or outside.5 minute walk to the old town with its wonderful architecture which came alive in the evening with many restaurants and bars. Fabulous location, old town easily walkable with numerous attractions including piazzas and amphitheatre.

GreeceThe window was not locked properly allowing some gap where noise could pass through it. I notified the reception and they claimed that they will fix it. I hope they will.
The room was spacious and clean. The air condition unit was very efficient which is quite rare in ourdays in hotels. The hotel was located 1 minute walk from the train station and the FSE bus stop (via don bosco) where replacement rail buses depart to other destinations.

United KingdomThe only negative was the shower experience as both the pressure and temperature fluctuated wildly whilst showering throughout our stay.
Great location, the decor was nice and a good size for a city hotel. Everyone was friendly.

IrelandThe hotel car park had never a free space which was very annoying, we weren't offered any explanation or told about it before hand, the staff were vague, and said it was fully booked for days in advance and when asked if we could book/reserve a space she said that reserving spaces wasn't allowed which contradicted what they said , we asked if we could drive to the car park and check for ourselves but were told no, which was suspicious, they said they could see on the cameras that it was full but wouldn't tell us where it was situated, there are some free spaces on one of the side streets but if it's free then the space is typically gone/unavailable. However to pay for outside parking in the blue spaces doesn't cost the earth. Perhaps the carpark is just for staff which is fine. But be transparent and don't advertise free parking on the site if its always suspiciously full and without access. Also there is only one plug in the room which our adapter could fit into, the rest of the plugs were not suited to adapter usage.
The hotel has had a fabulous revamp, our room had huge high ceilings and was very spacious and clean. Its very close to the station and the old town is within walking distance. The staff were very welcoming and our room was ready which was very appreciated.

IrelandThe corridors where the bedrooms were situated were very dark and dismal but in fairness there are signs of them being renovated. The carpets in the bedrooms need replacing - more fresh fruit at breakfast. The area around the beautiful pool needs a good sweeping. Having said all that I would return to Grand Hotel Lecce especially for its location.
Lovely traditional Italian hotel in an excellent location right beside the train station and only a 7 minute walk to the beginning of the old town of Lecce. The breakfast was good - cakes lovely- - pool very much appreciated after a morning of sightseeing - staff very friendly and helpful but clearly understaffed and overworked at times.

SwedenNot enough sun beds in the pool area, they can easily add 6-8 beds.
Great breakfast! Close to old town. If you need a parking space, make sure to book it in advance since there are very few spots.

United KingdomThe clue is in the name - the hotel is, indeed, very “grand” and charming. It transports its guests back to an era of grandeur seldom experienced today. It is a “work in progress” project that deserves to succeed. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent.

IrelandThe main carpet to bedrooms is very stained could do with replacing. The pool area needs to be swept on a daily basis. The small patch of ground beside the pool needs flowers just to make it nicer to look at while sitting at pool. There are no "Do Not Disturb" signs and staff knocked and opened bedroom door every morning before 9.00am it was very annoying especially when we were staying for 5 days and breakfast was served til 10.00am. The main restaurants and tourist areas are about a 15 min walk away which is far enough if you are not great on your feet a lot of uneven surfaces you would probably need to get a taxi up and down.
The reception area and sitting rooms were lovely and comfortable. The bedroom was lovely, bright and airy. The bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating. They had a small private carpark (at an additional cost) but i felt the car was safe. There was a lovely small swimming pool area with pool side chairs. Breakfast had a very good selection of cold meats, salads yoghurt and lots of cakes. It is closer to the old town which is lovely as you are near to the cathedral and lots of historical buildings.
