Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Excellent location for Brignole Station (which I needed) and also for airport bus. Nice square just round the corner and generally a good location for all main sites. Really nice to have coffee making facility in reception.

United KingdomSmall room, with no way of opening window for ventilation without letting insects in. Though there's a lift in the building, it doesn't go to the ground floor! You have to negotiate 16 steps to get to the lift.
The staff were helpful on-line. I never saw anyone in person. The location is good, a short walk from Genova Brignole station, with many good restaurants very near-by, and not far from the city centre

GermanyThe mercato orientale is right next to the building. Thats a big market and they start preparing for opening around 5-6 o'clock in the morning. If your room window is facing the market, you can't sleep with your windows open because of the noise of deliveries and carts, cleaning compressors and all the other machinery and gear a market uses. No problem with earplugs, but keep it in mind.
Very clean, very nice manager. Great location, the city center is close, many tasty cafes and restorants are just around the corner and on piazza colombo. Train station nearby. Everything for a quick little breakfast can be found in the lobby if someone is in a hurry. If not, the cafes and bakeries outside are great. Nice and easy to reach by car, there are parking spaces outside and around the piazza, but be careful as some are delivery spaces and you have to move in the morning. A great spot for a city trip, as the old town of Genova is a 10 min walk away

North MacedoniaThe building door and the front door of Genova's gold rooms are not marked. It's confusing because the guests are not aware that the building door leads to Genova's gold rooms. When I was standing in front of the front door, I mistakenly thought it was the entrance to the room.
Clean and tidy room every day, new towels every day, and excellent internet.

AustraliaAfter the initial personable welcome - there was no staff contact. All access via mobile phone. There are security cameras, but without staff onsite you are beholden to fellow guests to conduct themselves appropriately. Roaring air vents from the Mercato Orientale behind worked 24hrs a day proved to be a an ongoing distraction. Closing the window only stopped any ventilation.
A good location for Genoa - slightly out of the busy areas downtown with a community (Brignole) on the doorstep. Everything needed was nearby. Also close to Genova Brignole station - a 10 minute walk. The room was a conversion with a pod bathroom.

GermanySometimes, the external elevator door just won´t open. I blame it on the tourists who misuse it. I always close that door - I adore such elevators, their aesthetics and vibe. Apart from that, nothing.
Wonderful location just 5, maybe 10 walking minutes away from the Brignole station, just around the corner is the XX Settembre street - you can not possibly get any more central than that. The girl at the reception (unfortunately I was stressed out and didn't catch her name) waited beyond her working hours to pass me the room key because my train had been late. Everyone speaks surprisingly good English, I was prepared for anything, but not that! Invigorating coffee available in the common area was most certainly also a plus.

Hong KongSuper humid and super hot - the air just wasn't circulating, and there was no AC aside from a fan that would just dry your eyes. This leads to plenty of mosquitoes making their way into your room, I honestly didn't get one full night of sleep because I was burning in there. Also, the automatic door system that you need to open with your phone is really poor. Imagine you're visiting all day long and your phone dies - you're locked outside.
Great location, coffee and water always available.

NetherlandsNo, I did not appreciate my stay in Genova Golden Rooms. When traveling, I want a place to stay that has a reception; I am not interested in a puzzle trip. In Genoa, I understood from my e-mail instructions that I could enter my booked accommodation called “Genova Golden Rooms” at 12 Via Colombo after 15:00 hours. Seemed easy to me, it was close to the Genova Brignole railway station where I had gotten off the train. I walked, carrying my backpack, to the address but found nothing there about Golden Rooms. People in a nearby doorway told me that Golden Rooms was not located at this address at all; I had to walk to another address in the same street. I walked there, again carrying my backpack. Yes, those people had been right: on the third floor of the indicated address was a door mentioning Golden Rooms. Ringing the bell and knocking on the door did not help; nobody opened the door. I called the contact person without success. I walked downstairs where there was a male concierge sitting behind a counter. This man was kind enough to make a phone call for me. I got, on his phone, a woman on the line who spoke English. She said that she had tried to reach me but apparently had not succeeded. I told her that I did not use Wifi on-the-road. OK she said; she would open the outside door of the apartment on the third floor remotely. Room 4 was to be mine. Inside, I would find instructions for entering my room. I would also find a Wifi code there and I had to use that to check-in digitally. Then, I had to get into my room. On all 7 room doors inside the apartment, there were devices with numbers just under the doorknob. I had to enter the code that I had received via WhatsApp. After trying several times, I succeeded. Using WhatsApp, I could open the apartment door and subsequently enter the room using the device with numbers. During daytime, the big green door downstairs of the building was open. After 19:15 hours this door was closed and I could not open it by myself becaus
