How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe stayed here for a week to do more hiking above Dorf Tirol after staying there last summer and loving it. The rooms in the upper floor have great views, the family that runs it is welcoming and full of helpful tips, a nice, cozy atmosphere in the little breakfast room - a fun mix of people, mostly German guests while we were there. The access to the amazingly scenic pool ten minutes away (with a bar), quick access to the Hochmut lift to quickly get up to the mountains, and the pretty walk or regular buses down to Meran... for our needs, it was really perfect. There are great places to eat nearby (the pizza place at the town's central bus station, the brewery across from the castle...) and a little fast food place down the street if you just want a currywurst and fries after coming down from the mountain.
There is liquid body soap in the shower, but we ended up bringing our own bar soap for convenience when washing hands this time. It's a simple pension, so if you need a hairdryer, you should have one with you (maybe if you asked the hosts would have one?) . There is a little Spar supermarket up the hill - halfway to the Hochmut lift? - if you need to stock up on anything. These aren't things we disliked - the minimalism fits with the vibe - but good to keep in mind as you're packing. In the months ahead of our trip we were already looking forward to sitting on the balcony, looking up at the mountains, and then it was even nicer than we remembered. Highly recommend.

Verified reviewThis was top notch. Amazing value. The room was clean and fresh with a lovely balcony and nice bathroom. Breakfast was first rate and huge with great coffee, eggs, cheeses, and fresh fruit salad with yoghurt. And there was free entrance to the beautiful Freibad down the road! Tirolo is a lovely village too. I didn't want to leave and I hope I can stay here again..

Verified reviewBreakfast was good. The room was great too, I enjoyed the balcony.
The street can be a bit loud at night, but closing the door to the balcony fully made it much quieter.

Verified reviewGarni Kofler Is a family run business. The family is super kind, friendly and accommodating. We were able to access independently our room at 10pm after a late arrival and on the day of the departure we had to leave very early by public bus and they proposed to open the breakfast room for us 1h earlier. We were not expecting any of that so we were very pleased and grateful for their support. Although the amenities are very basic and simple, the hosts have different perks to offer to their guests: we received a card to visit for free the regional museums and access free transportation and you can even have free access to a local pool if you are their guests. Breakfast is a buffet style, welcoming and diverse. We enjoyed our stay at the Garni and appreciated the hospitality of our hosts.

Verified reviewNice place, in the town center. Easy to reach Trekking routes, biking. The Breakfast was done in a tirolese way, great one. Ah remember altough we're still in Italy it doesn't serve Espresso, but only American Coffee. the host was very gentle and helpful.

Verified reviewMinimalist, but perfect - comfortable beds, a beautiful view of the mountains and valley from the balcony, a delicious breakfast with fresh products, the free admission to the unbelievable pool down the street (surprisingly empty early in the day - even in July!). We got caught in a heat wave, but with the pool, and the Hochmut gondola right there for getting up to trails to escape the heat, we still really enjoyed our stay. We have already booked again for next summer. (Next time we'll bring another beach towel and a little travel hair dryer, just in case it's cooler and rainier.)
We don't want them to change anything - the hosts are perfectionists, and are on a renovation spree, but we loved every little detail, including the last retro touches, and hope that everything is the same next year.

Verified reviewLocation: super Owner: nice & friendly, good communication Room: simple but nice Breakfast: good Parking in the garden, there is a good pizzeria nearby.
The bathroom is a little old-fashioned, much water comes out to the floor after shower. The room door is thin you hear the noises from downstairs.

Verified reviewThe location was really nice with a great panorama. The bus station to reach Merano was nearby and free of charge with the Südtirol Guest Pass. Free parking was also available. The rooms were comfortable, very clean and partly renovated. Good breakfast, but the salty options could be improved. The staff was kind and helpful in giving suggestions.
Everything was alright, but there wasn't an elevator.

Verified reviewFree to use swimming pool and free public transport passes were both an amazing suprise. Breakfast was good for the price. Amazing balcony, stayed in a single room which was reasonably cosy but still great value for the cost, but the balcony and view was unbelievable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The only thing I could think that wasn't amazing, was on the day of checkout one of the room cleaners came through the door at 8am and woke me up. But that's minor compared to how amazing this place was
