Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ColombiaThere’re many high stairs to arrive to the apartment and it’s difficult to get upstairs with luggage.
We liked the location very close to many places to visit, the cleanliness of everything, the kindness of the encharged, and the access to do the laundry.

GermanySmall inconvenience: there wasn’t shampoo or shower gel provided, so we need to buy one. But there’re plenty of shops nearby, so it wasn’t difficult.
Very central location. Nice old building. Good air conditioning. Nice friendly host. Having a washing machine is convenient for long trips.

AustraliaWe were an older couple and we didn’t like the stairs. However I don’t think it’s avoidable unless you were staying in a hotel. I believe most places in Florence would be the same.
We loved the location. It was so easy to walk everywhere.

North MacedoniaThe stairs are a bit steep, but you get used to them.
Very good stay in the heart of Florence. The hosts were great—very welcoming, attentive, and quick to help with anything: taxis, extra keys, storing luggage after check-out, etc. All major attractions are nearby and within walking distance. The apartment was very clean and offers an authentic Florentine experience, as it’s located in a an old building.

Maltain the main bedroom, the 'queen' bed is actually two singles pushed together, which created an uncomfortable gap in the middle. Also, the bedroom door is quite low—I'm 6'4" and bumped my head a few times,. Overall, still a great stay with just a few quirks to keep in mind.
This place has an excellent central location—everything is within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the area. The living room is impressively spacious, perfect for relaxing or entertaining. On top of that, the host was very nice and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for comfort and accessibility in one spot.

New ZealandIt was a little hard to find due to the confusing numbering system Florence uses, and google maps took us to the wrong place.
We had an amazing stay at Florence Rental. It is extremely centrally located next to all the main attractions with some fabulous restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful despite the language barrier.

New ZealandOne of us found the bed much too soft, and ended up sleeping on the couch, but these things are quite personal. The washing machine was great, but knowing how to use it was trickier. Finally, some help in learning how to find a taxi for the transfer to the train station (with large bags) wouldve helped as they are esecially difficult to find in Florence.
Loved the location, space, having a couch, desk, kitchen, dining table and washing machine. So good to be so close to all the key sites, and near a famous specialty sandwich shop for ease of return.

United KingdomNothing, thought it was good value for money in a very central spot. Obviously, you need to be fit as it’s on the second floor of an old building with no lift….some steep steps to climb.
A great apartment in the centre of historical Firenze, a 2 min walk to the Uffizi and maybe 7/8 mins to the cathedral, Comfortable, air conditioned rooms, 2 bathrooms and facilities to both cook and do your clothes washing as required.

United KingdomMario, the host was charming, helpful and kind. The flat is different from the photos and up 2 sets of steep stairs. It is very spacious, with a lovely large kitchen with all the basics and a great long and lovely table. 2 bedrooms: 1 room with double bed, 1 room with 3 x single beds. 2 shower/toilets. The windows open for fresh air, the air conditioning works and the double glazing provides a quiet flat. the location is fantastic with best restaurants and a supermarket. The river and the sights are on the doorstep! All 4 of us had a fabulous time.

IrelandInstructions for check in could have been clearer. There was mention of red and blue which we saw none. Simpler to say press the button with certain initials on. Only mentioning for clarity. Overall loved this accommodation.
Location couldn't be better. Building had character. Air con worked well. Bedrooms and bathrooms spacious. Good soundproofing from the windows This is a pedestrian area so some late night homegoers and rubbish trucks audible but only a problem if you're a very light sleeper I'd say. Good appliances throughout.

MaltaIt's important to note that there is no elevator going up to the apartment and the stairs are very steep, so anyone with mobility issues or big luggage should keep that in mind.

United StatesWindows have mosquito nets, but they all are lose; thus the mosquitos got in and bothered us at night. The apartment is on the second floor but the stairs are VERY long. This did not bother us but should be considered if someone has health issues.
Phenomenal location, 3 min walk from the Uffizi gallery. Very clean, with a nice inside the building terrace. Mario, the owner, is very nice; he met us in person despite our late arrival and gave a few great dining recommendations.

United KingdomThe mattress wasn't comfortable and the toilet button doesn't work properly. Maybe the space needs to be painted, there are nasty marks on the roof upstairs and on the bathroom's walls.
Mario and Maria were very nice and professional. Good communication, online with Mario, and in person with Maria. The place was lovely, cosy, with an excellent location. The kitchenette, bed linen/towels and the toilet were clean, and the space was comfortable with a good size double bed, big table with four with chairs, and a sofa bed.

ItalyThe apartment is built in what used to be a medieval tower. This means that the walls are around 1mt thick and there won't be any cellphone reception while you're in there. There's WiFi but the connection is now really powerful, I would advice downloading movies beforehand if you plan to stay in in the evening. The position of the bed is a bit too close to the ceiling, be careful when you wake up!
This apartment position is exceptional! 20 minutes walking distance from the train station, extremely close to Uffizi Gallery, Piazza della Signoria, Gelileo Museum, Ponte Vecchio. Plenty of restaurants and café nearby.
