That we had to come home. I miss the dogs terribly.

Oh my gosh....where do I start? A beautiful spacious studio apartment that was so ideal for our family of three. A coffee machine, a private terrace to sit on with said coffee while trying to work out what the parakeet (?) only a metre away was saying. Watching horses come and go, being visited by any or all of the 3 most wonderfully natured dogs. The comfortable beds...the swimming.pool just behind your apartment that you mostly have to yourselves....the scent of the flowers that greet you when you step out of the car. Catching sight of a family of badgers (alive...not flat on the road like in Ireland) and a toad and a deer dashing into the undergrowth lit up with fireflies ( that I thought only lived on fairytales). If you like nature and a relaxed home away from home where you can spend the day in a beautiful pool surrounded by wildlife and farm animals debating what flavours you are going to try in the gelateria in the nearest village, Poggio Palone, then Fiorlice is for you. Oh and then to top it all off new born goslings ...heaven.!!

Toscany climate of the place. Number of different type of animals on the farm. Just few steps to the pool. A short distance to the tourist attractions of Pisa, Livorno, Florence, Lucca, Siena. Friendly approach to the guests of the owners (thank you Fabrizio, Tommaso and Jasmine).

We didn't get the apartment be booked, so that was disappointing. But we weren't there for long, and it wasn't awful at all, so we didn't see the point in creating a big fuss. The shower needs replacing - we told Tomasso ad were assured they are about to embark upon a refurb, quite needed in fairness. We meant to also tell him that the kitchen tap, which was made for a bath should also be replaced. The cooker was old but worked perfectly. Same with fridge. It was quaint though and had it's own charm. The aircon didn't work two of the 4 nights, and when we mentioned it there was zero argument and we weren't charged for it (€10 extra per day) The directions to get there are terrible, I don't know who to blame, but from experience it's probably Google. Our real disappointment was the pool area - we didn't use it even once. But again, for a four day stay and pretty reasonable money wise, I overall recommend - just make sure you ensure you get the room you book.

Tomasso and his dad are absolutely lovely and helpful. The surroundings are beautiful and they have gorgeous horses. (Be aware that their electric fence DOES work if you're leaning in for photos....LOL) There is a very friendly cat and three well cared for dogs - always a good sign of humans right?? And a fascinating ancient piano. The bed while not the "poshest" was comfy and we had 4 good nights sleep there. The aircon, when it worked, was quiet and efficient. The kitchen had everything needed for a short stay.
