Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaThe only real disappointment was the breakfast. We expected at least a bit of variety and a place to sit, but all we got was packed croissants to take with you and a small do-it-yourself coffee machine. Other than that, we had no real issues.
If you're not too demanding and are simply looking for a place to sleep, Hotel Farini will be just fine. The location is perfect for exploring Rome by foot, it is literally 3 minutes away from Termini Station. Also, it is not expensive at all, even though it is far from luxurious. It actually doesn't look like a hotel and could be difficult to find if you don't know the exact location. The staff, especially Mr. Angelo, was very nice and helped us find it with no problems.

New ZealandBathroom smelled of urine. Also the shower floods the entire bathroom so left with wet floors for a few hours while it drains. Bathroom needs upgrading as didn’t feel clean when using it due to above. Fridge in room didn’t work.
Fantastic location, only 5 min walk to the train station. Colosseum was very close and the Vatican only a 1 hour walk if you are active otherwise it’s Ubers/e-bikes or scooters. Room was very spacious and felt clean.

United KingdomIt’s very hard to find, the photos lead you to believe there’s a hotel sign outside which wasn’t present, it was a little sign on the door bells which wouldn’t have been noticed if I didn’t look.
The location is perfect for first time visitors to Rome, literally 3/4 minute walk from Roma Termini station, about a 10 minute walk to the colosseum, 20 minute walk to the Trevi fountain and Pantheon. We took a taxi to the Vatican City as it’s around 2 miles away from the hotel.

United KingdomOn arrival in Rome we got a message to say the booking had been cancelled. We were not happy! However on talking to the owner she offered an alternative location. She then met us at the original address, and we drove 10 minutes away to the other hotel. It was fine. Why she didn't just send us a change of address without giving us so much stress I don't know. The new hotel was a little further away - but not too bad. Apart from the hiccup at the beginning it was all fine.
The hotel was great, and the kitchen well stocked for a DIY breakfast. Lots to like. Perfectly clean, enough towels and soap etc.

CameroonNooks and crannies of the room were very, very dusty. TV didn't work. Wifi was very spotty. Shower water pressure was non-existent. Fluorescent lighting. Limited "front desk". No one on site in the event of an emergency. Breakfast is a carton of communal milk in the fridge + a bad prepackaged pastry. Didn't see any coffee.
Short walk to Termini Station. Huge room.

Czech Republic2* hotel, don't expect too much. Very old hotel. The wifi signal was very poor. The hotel is old and the price is just crazy for this. You pay just for the good location. The breakfast wasn't really breakfast. Only coffee, tea and juice available at the reception and a little croissant wrapped in plastic. So I wouldn't call this "breakfast", but just "snacks", but ok, better than nothing! You can hear other guests in the other rooms, the walls are not very sound-proof.
The location is great, very close to everything. We like walking, so we were able to walk almost everywhere (except for the Vatican). The staff was very kind and helpful!!! Everything was clean, we got new towels every day!
