Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesIt was quite noisy from the other rooms nearby and no elevator building made it an exercise with the suitcases.
The staff is very nice and welcoming. The room we stayed in on the last floor was quite comfy, had everything you need for a short city stay.

United KingdomThe rooms and common areas could benefit from a slight refresh.
The room was small but very comfortable — it had everything you need for a three-day city break in Rome. The hotel also has a terrace on the ground floor, which is small but very charming. They offer a basic breakfast, but it’s complimentary from the hotel, which is a lovely touch to start the morning. The location is very convenient — it’s about a 20-minute walk to Termini Station or the Colosseum, making it easy to explore the city.

United KingdomThe walls are very thin. It says quiet time between 10pm-8am but was woken every morning at 6.30am by people, maybe staff? Outside my room (on the ground floor, just above where they kept the breakfast) laughing and talking very very loud. There wasn’t much breakfast food - it was between 8am - 10am and by 8.30-9am there was nothing left. No cups for coffee either which is very annoying. There was also this horrid vomit like smell in the air in the room where you can store your luggage, which was right next to my room so would sometimes drift in.
It was only a 20 minute walk from the centre of Rome which is perfect. The bed was so comfortable, I could sleep for hours in it if there wasn’t so much to see in Rome! The staff were very lovely, and the man who checked me in walked me from the check in hotel to my hotel and showed me where everything was. He was very helpful - sending me all the details I needed via WhatsApp! The staff would clean/make the bed every morning and left me little Easter eggs on my pillow on Sunday which was absolutely wonderful, as this was my first Easter alone away from my family!

United KingdomIt is a traditional hotel with old lock and keys concept. First, it was difficult to find the hotel. Communication came from hotel Infinito which got reception staff. The hotel we were in, that is hotel Espana, didn't have reception. It was 3 separate houses actually on the same road. #21 and #17 is for hotel Espana. No elevator as well. The one we stayed didn't have any reception or locker or breakfast facilities in it. You have to move to next in line house. I have seen couple of more visitors facing the same challenge in finding their room and the house number 17 It seems close to station but it's not. Metro station or bus station is 8 minutes walk away. You can't make a coffee either as there is no facilities in room to boil water.
Room was recently refurbished. Clean hotel.

RomaniaNice large room for 3 people, clean, except for the bathroom which was old and had some humidity on the ceiling. Beds were comfortable enough. Breakfast was free, we came on the later part of the breakfast and the croissants were kind of dry, but maybe in the morning they were more fresh. The shower had a weird angle for the ceiling and it was ok for us being short, but im not sure how taller people can shower there comfortably. The staff was super nice, super helpful! Sent us a list of good places to go see and eat, close and far, which was very nice and very helpful, and were helpful with any other questions we had. The location is great, super quiet, because its in an inner street, even though the larger street is pretty close, close to the metro (7 minute walk), 20 minute walk to the colosseum. I recommend staying there! Good value for the price.
