Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe outside doors close by 9:00 p.m. You can use the key code to get in. No one is at the desk after 9 and not there until 8 a.m. Fortunately we had no issues, though when we arrived at airport at 7:00 a.m. couldn't get anyone at hotel when our taxi that was arranged by the hotel did not arrive. Had to wait for them to call back and then call the service which had an issue and why they hadn't arrived. I tried to call the taxi service myself, you do get that phone number, but only could leave a message, and their message was in Italian. The way the sinks lie on the vanity. They are on top, so not a lot of room to put our stuff for three of us. It was cramped but we managed with three of us.
The hotel is on a hill. It is close to Trevi fountain - 15 minute walk, Spanish steps - 10 minute walk but you do have to walk up a few hills to get back to it. Santa Maria Maggiore, where Pope is buried, is probably a 15-20 minute walk up hill. Villa Borghese head straight all the way when you turn right out of the hotel door. It is about a mile to get to the beginning of the park. The views from that area look over Rome. It is about a 35 minute walk to the Vatican. It is two flights up. There is an elevator, but it is small but worked fine. I chose the stairs. You can get breakfast brought to your room, but it is not a hot breakfast, however you can get toast and hard boiled egg along with yogurt, croissant etc.. There are not a lot of breakfast places around, but my brother and nephew found one after the museum, which is next to this hotel, take a right and it was in that area. We were always taking a left so that wasn't found until the end of our trip. There is no restaurant, bar. The hotel staff top notch. Thea and Gina were so friendly, helpful and fun to talk too. They would give suggestions that other hotel guests gave them for restaurants. We stayed in the family room as there were three of us. It had a king size bed and TV, table, refrigerator with drinks, but they let us take them out to put in our own. The next room was a queen bed with no TV. There was no door the rooms were open, but we were fine with that. It is very spacious and has a closet. The bathroom was large had a nice shower and a sauna, yes a sauna. I used it. They had hooks and hooks near shower so you could put your towel there. There was a small spot in shower to put shampoo and soap. There is air conditioning and it works really well! I like to let traveller's know about the hills and stairs just in case this is an issue for them. This is not a complaint, as I knew this before I went thanks to another person who wrote a review.

United KingdomWe stayed for our mini moon and when advising the hotel we were told they do not do any special touches and this would include an extra fee if you wanted something. Was even a charge for the champagne left in our room, which we thought may have been a little present for staying.
Location was great, only a short walk to the trevi fountain, bars and restaurants. Hotel staff were very welcoming and offered lots of trips on places to visit and eat. Was an extra surprise to having a sauna in our room on arrival. Easy to access the room using the information provided online.

United StatesThe front AC made a constant humming noise and it really did not cool much. There was a second unit as well that also did not cool much. The toilet also kept running if the button was stuck. I wish the sauna room was not right by the reception desk. Or at least there was a TV on the back corner bed for more privacy. Every morning I could hear all the commotion of people checking out.
The room size was amazing, it was huge, the location was great considering the dump location we came from by the Terminal. The location was safe to walk around without feeling like you were going to get robbed. The bathroom was a great size and clean. The front desk staff were so sweet and super helpful! She even booked us a transport to the airport. I would come back here for a girls trip for sure!

United StatesWe always return to Escape Luxury Suites when visiting Rome—it’s our home away from home. This charming boutique hotel consistently impresses us, but this stay was especially memorable thanks to Gina and Thea. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made us feel truly cared for from the moment we arrived. We also noticed and appreciated the positive changes under the new management. The overall experience has been elevated with thoughtful improvements and added services that make a real difference. Escape continues to be the perfect blend of comfort, elegance, and personalized service—we can’t wait to come back!

United KingdomAircon in our room (201) was poor, unfortunately. The room was consequently not cool enough and felt stuffy. We understand they are getting a new aircon set up for this room. The walk-in shower doesn't have enough glass and so a lot of water leaked out onto bathroom floor. The €15 fee charge to look after our suitcases on last day.
Fantastic Location, comfortable room (despite poor aircon), comfy bed and extremely helpful staff, Gina and Thea. Have a great September trip to London, Gina, hope you get good weather!

We had a great stay at this hotel in Rome! The bed was really comfy, which made it easy to relax after a day of exploring the city. The location is excellent close to everything we wanted to see and easy to get around. The room was cleaned every day, which we really appreciated. Overall, a comfortable and convenient place to stay. Highly recommend!

IrelandWe are so happy we found this little gem of a hotel for our family visit to Rome. It's very central, being less than a 10 minute walk from the Trevi Fountain and just seconds from the beautiful Quattro Fontane, yet it's nice and quiet. The hotel is about a 3 minute walk from Piazza Barberini Tritone. The rooms are very spacious with high ceilings and great air conditioning which we were very glad of. We had room 204 which was big enough for a family of 4. The beds were HUGE and very comfortable. The sauna in the room was a really nice treat, although we didn't get to use it much as it was over 30C when we were there! The staff at the front desk were a joy, so friendly and helpful, always with a bright friendly greeting as we passed. Gina who was on the front desk most days during our stay was a ray of friendly sunshine every morning. Our daughters keep commenting about how friendly she was. We arrived very late on a Friday night so we used their virtual check in process. The staff sent me instructions and a video beforehand via WhatsApp and we had no issues at all, it was perfectly simple and hassle free. We were also given a number to call in case we has an issue, but we were fine. I would highly recommend the Escape Luxury Suite for a visit to Rome.

AustraliaThere was nothing we didn't like about the premises.
We stayed at these premises twice during our stays in Rome and both rooms were well appointed, clean and spacious and bathrooms were very good. Staff were friendly and very helpful on all occasions. Location was great and central to many attractions and the Metro.

ArgentinaIf I have to sat something, maybe the decoration wasn't the prettiest, but honestly we didn't mind.
The staff was SO kind and helpful, we were very pleased with them. Also, they let us leave our bags in storage room after check-out, which was really convenient and nice from them. The location was perfect, not extremely centric so it wasn't too loud at night, but a 5 minute walk from the Trevi fountain, Piazza Spagna. Lastly, the room was huge, which was really nice too.

AustraliaOnly one small thing which I forgot to mention to the staff; the shower did not drain very well. There was clearly a blockage somewhere. That is the only issue we had.
The location and that the staff were amazingly helpful. The room was large and the shower easy to use. It was a short walk to the Trevi Fountain. Excellent hair dryer.

We truly enjoyed our stay! The location was excellent, only a 15min walk from Roma Termini, so easy to get there. The room was comfortable and stylish, and the staff— Gina and Thea—were absolutely amazing. Cheerful and helpful, they made us feel genuinely welcome. Our family room was located near the reception, so we occasionally heard some people talking, but it was minimal and didn’t bother us and overall it was very quiet although it is located at the center. The room itself was great : spacious, two very comfortable king-size beds, a sauna we all enjoyed, and lights that could be changed to soft purple and green ambient Iighting, creating a calming atmosphere after our busy days. 👍
