Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. An exceptional apartment located near everything. The bathroom and kitchen are recently been tastefully renovated. It is close to the railway station, the supermarket and the beach. It’s a short walk to the ferry with access to all the towns located on the lake. There are plenty of restaurants close by.

The ac was hard to change the temperature on so the rooms got pretty hot.
The apartment was bigger than expected, it was also right next to a convenience store, a bakery and a beautiful public beach. Many adorable cats were walking in the area too!

Perfect location: very close to the lake, ferry, train station. Quiet. A supermarket 1 min away. Very responsive host.

Great position. 3 minutes from the train station and 5 to the boat and restaurants. Shop just next to the building. We enjoyed staying here for 3 nights and has everthing we needed.

Great apartment in lovely Bellano, close to the train station and lake shore, supermarket across the road. The apartment is a good size, really clean and modern and well equipped. We loved our stay here - and Bellano is a great base for Lake Como, much nicer than the busier lake towns

The only negative thing was that the sofa bed in the living room was very loud when making any movement and a bit uncomfortable :(
We loved to stay at Emma house. The owner was very kind, giving us information about where to eat and shop, and she left us a bottle of wine as well. The property is a 2 minute walk frome the lake, and a 5-10 minute walk from the train station as well as the ferry station, so it is very conveniently located. The apartment is nice, spacious, clean, and well equipped. Would very highly recommend!!

Full apartment was spotless and very well equipped. The hosts were fantastic from start to finish and going the extra mile to inform us of a train strike and even helping with our onward travel

Our stay was amazing at Emma’s house. We loved it. Francesca had amazing communication which made our arrival so easy. I wish I could rate it higher as we had a wonderful time here.

Nothing. All good (Tips for others: check Ferry timetables connected to Bellano to make good use of the time for your stay).
A short walk to the Bellano ferry wharf, close to the train station. Nice one bedroom apartment. Good sized bathroom and clean facilities (nice to have a balcony too). The host was friendly and contactable via WhatsApp, easy check-in. We tried the recommended local restaurants and enjoyed the food very much. It’s a cosy home for us during rainy days visiting the Lake Como region in Italy.

Nothing negative.
Communication with Francesca was brilliant. Early contact, clear instructions re entry, even photos of outside property so we could easily identify! Unit well equipped and extremely secure. Location: excellent. Supermarket across the road, 5 min walk to edge of lake, 8 min to Train Station. Easy stroll to the centre for restaurants, ferries etc.

The apartment was well located and spacious. A short walk from the train station and the ferry. Francesca is a fabulous host and made me feel very welcome and comfortable throughout my entire stay, thank you!

The Emma house is a completely modern renovation in an old apartment block. It was clean, with wonderful facilities including a washing machine and an electric jug. It was a 5 min walk from the railway station and 20m from a supermarket and bakery. Lake Como was 5mins walk away. There were numerous cafes and eateries along the Lake foreshore. this was a relaxing and very comfortable accommodation. Highly recommended. The host was easy to communicate with and responded quickly when contacted.

There is nothing to improve, everything was perfect.
Absolutely amazing location, very close to station, amazing bakery next door as well as a well stocked supermarket, also it's close to a beautiful waterfall. This apartment really felt like home. All the detailed maps and information were available at the apartment, it had all modern amenities. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Everything. From the hosts (Francesca and her dad), everything went great and we felt so welcomed. The place was cleaned and ready before the check-in time. The apartment had everything we needed, and felt very homey and modern. Bellano is chill and not very touristy, so I recommend staying at Emma House. You can easily get everywhere using the train or ferry. Thank you, Francesca!
