6 of us shared one bathroom, which was not ideal. However, the bathroom was big and spacious, and we made it work. It would have been nice to have had air conditioning, as it was extremely hot. However, each room was provided with a large fan, which helped.

Perfect location, walking distance to all we wanted to do and see. Near restaurants, supermarkets, and local fun and activities! We arrived in 2 cars, and there was parking for us right at the apartment. Our host, Paulo, was excellent! Friendly and more than helpful. And provided us with extra information about the area and facilities which was extremely useful. The apartment was large and spacious, comfortable rooms, big beds.

The apartment was a good size, well appointed and immaculately clean. Paolo, our host, was extremely helpful and couldn't do enough to help, providing lots of information and offering to help wherever he could. It was a 10 minute walk to the old centre of Matera. We were able to park outside the apartment.

What a lovely apartment and what an exceptional host. A few hours before we arrived Paolo informed us that the entire city had no running water and that we would likely be out of water for the next 24 hours. He offered to refund our money which of course we declined, and he made every effort to ensure that we were still comfortable while being without running water. Then he was extremely generous with his time in providing information about what to see in Matera and even took us to some off-the-beaten-path spots which were spectacular. A stay that could have been difficult and disappointing turned into a highlight of our time in Southern Italy. Can’t recommend this apartment highly enough.

What a lovely place! The host, Paolo, is so kind and sincere. He is very helpful in explaining everything about Matera. The apartment is, in one word, great! This is by far the best stay we have had in Italy. It was clean, tidy, large and location-wise perfect. All rooms were spacious and so was the shower. We will definitely come back here with great pleasure!

We like the apartment which is spacious and sparkling clean. Well decorated and equipped with everything we need and more for our stay. The beds and shower are particularly comfortable. Parking is right outside and convenient. A short walk to the town center, and easy to explore around. At first, we are concerned about no air con as the outside temperature is up to 37 degrees but it turns out to be ok as each room has a fan and we don’t feel the sweltering heat. We like even more our gracious host Paolo, who met us at the apartment and walked us through everything in the apartment and provided info on major sights, restaurants etc. He sent us info prior to our arrival and was well communicated throughout our stay, helping us with booking and making recommendations to make sure we have a nice stay. He kindly extended our check out time to cater for our schedule.

Paolo is a great host. Went out of his way to make sure that our check in was easy and smooth, gave many recommendations of what we can do, eat and where we can go, to experience beautiful Matera. Thank you for being an excellent host, Paolo. You are truly an ambassador of Matera! Just know that this place is not part of the Sassi area and does not have any views of the Sassi. We were aware and did not mind because it was conveniently located and a good sized apartment for our group.

The only balcony never had the sun on it, which is probably great when it's really hot in the Summer but it wasn't warm enough to sit in the shade when we were there (March 2024). The 2nd bathroom is off the kitchen and is just a sink and toilet. It was fine for 2 but I think it might be a problem when fully occupied.

Fantastic location as not far from the centre of the city and the Sassi but in a very quiet road. It is really spacious and very well equipped, there is even an electric kettle to make a proper cup of tea! There is a really good supermarket just 2 minutes away and several restaurants just 5-10 minutes away, including La Panca, a pizza restaurant that is infamous amongst locals. The host, Paolo, was amazing, really friendly and helpful. He even made suggestions for trips outside Matera as he knew we'd been there before.

The apartment is conveniently located close to the entrance to the Sassi Barisano. It was very clean, comfortable and well stocked including with breakfast items. We could not see the old Matera from the window, but this was absolutely minor with respect to the rest!

The friendliness, but also the professionality of the host. He was always available at phone and resolve any issue (he brought us a forgotten telephone charger. The kitchen not only was fully equipped, but also had something to eat in case of need. The position very close to shops and really less than 10 minutes easy walk to the pedestrian area of Sassi.

Paolo is a super nice host and offered me so many useful information!!! With him. You can get the info about the best spot for sunset view of Sassi Where to eat the Matera food. Where to buy the food stuff if you want to cook yourself at home. Even the wine for drink. He is so so so kind and sympathy. The apartment is near Sassi too. Just a few minutes walk. Believe me. Go and meet Paolo. You will not be disappointed!

The hosts were amazing. Everything in the apartment was spotless. Little touches like tea bags and biscotti made it very welcoming. However it was the hosts that absolutely made our stay. They could not do enough to make us welcome and at home and Paolo even took us to Belvedere before we left as we hadnt had chance to go. If I ever return to Matera I will be contacting Paolo to stay at Emma home again. Brilliant value for money and all together a fantastic stay.
