How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat entertainment at night, really a good place to be and enjoyable. Facilities are wonderful and offer great things to do, pool activities, exercise, excursions. The cleaning service was done right away in the villas while we were at breakfast, very clean and tidy.
The services could be improved by the following; - iron availability, not just a service but there should be an iron at the property your room can request to iron items last minute, typical at any hotel/resort etc - valet service to parking lot, we are on vacation we should be able to have someone go get our car that is parked in off property lot instead of walking on busy road - food service to chairs at pool, not relaxing to ask everyone to have to sit at the restaurant to eat, and not be able to get service to your chair (most beach clubs even offer this in Europe) - towel service at pool is ridiculous, giving people 1 towel to drag around with them all day

Verified reviewEverything was perfect! The room had a wonderful view. We really enjoyed the pool and the sea — the access to the water is amazing and the view is stunning. The staff are super friendly and attentive. Breakfast was good. The extra activities like kayaking and stand-up paddle are paid separately, but the prices are fair and totally worth it. We’ll definitely be coming back!
They could offer a free or symbolic-price shuttle between the train station and the hotel, since walking access is quite difficult (it’s not far, but some parts don’t have sidewalks).

Verified reviewBreakfast is a disaster. Boiled eggs with traces of chicken feces (!), a dry cucumber clearly sliced the night before, piles of cheap pastries, and a filthy dining room. No wonder I ended up with food poisoning.
The hotel runs a Domina Club for the “privileged.” Regular guests face restrictions: separate areas in the dining room, pool, and even the reception. When I tried to get information, I received a call from Alessia, who couldn’t provide prices or conditions, and refused to send anything by email — “everything is explained only in person.” Really? In 2025? For a birthday, we ordered flowers. The staff simply threw them on the table. A vase had to be begged for. Luckily, they eventually found one. There is also no place to dry swimsuits — it’s simply not provided. Absolutely not suitable for families with children: 1. The kids’ disco lasts just 15 minutes, then it switches to an adult show with terrible acoustics. 2. The kids’ club is open for hours, but there’s nothing there except paints and two exhausted, untrained animators. Children don’t stay there. 3. Without a Domina Club membership, forget about good breakfast seating or sunbeds — reception won’t warn you about this at check-in. 4. Parking costs €7 per day, and you still have to walk 200 meters along the road. If you don’t ask for the access code immediately, you risk getting locked out of the parking area. 5. The hotel makes zero effort for guests’ comfort. Even on birthdays, there’s no complimentary service, no attention. Ice and glasses delivered to your room cost €10. Not a fortune, but in any decent 4* hotel, this should be basic service. 6. The building is old, balconies are tiny. 7. Housekeeping is disgusting 🤮. I found long black hairs on the towels. 8. The flowers we ordered were once again left on the table without a vase, while we were away. Bottom line: dirt, careless staff, and no basic service standards. It feels like a cheap hostel, only with a 4-star price tag. If you want to keep a positive impression of Sicily — stay far away from this place.

Verified reviewThe view is stunning! The restaurant down by the pool was absolutely delicious! (I believe it’s called beach club … We ate there multiple times because it was so good! The staff at Zagarella is very kind and accommodating! They have shows every night! Also worth noting, they have a pharmacy and doctor on the property incase you need it. (Limited hours)
There are so many stairs! I think i counted 94 stairs to get from the top family pool area, to the bottom pool area that had the beach restaurant. We had our 6 month old baby with us so it was a lot trying to get up and down! The outdoor pool area and rooms seem like they are getting a little old, but they everything was clean.

Verified reviewBeach access.
Loud music until midnight, impossible to sleep due to noise. There was AC controller missing, so no chance to reduce or increase temperature in the villa. Key of the room was not working properly, each time you have to try 10 times to open the door.

Verified reviewThe hotel enjoys an excellent location: peacefully tucked away, yet just a short distance from a lively town. Its direct access to the sea is a true highlight: a path from the rocky cliffs leads straight to calm, clear, and inviting waters, perfect for swimming and relaxation. We greatly appreciated the opportunity to swim in such pristine surroundings. The property has a very nice swimming pool. The hotel features a single restaurant, offering breakfast and lunch. While the menu was simple, the food was fresh, well-prepared, and reasonably priced. Throughout our stay, the staff was consistently attentive and welcoming.
The property shows signs of age both inside and out, which lends it a somewhat timeworn appearance and creates the impression that it could benefit from more attentive upkeep.

Verified reviewFriendly staff, nice selection of food at breakfast and dinner, multiple pools, with lovely views. Great spots for relaxing and quiet time.
Would recommend a car as it would make it easier to get around. There is a free local bus but navigating it with small children is tricky in the heat (likely better in cooler months though!)

Verified reviewThe hotel was clean.
I have a lot that I didn't like 1. We picked the hotel as it rated 7.7 for location this should state if you have a car its a good location not if you do not and we where not told of the free shuttle service, we found this out on the last day returning from the train station. 2. The evening entertainment was so loud you could even hear everything in your room with the patio door shut. 3. The reception staff could not speak very good English and we found them rude even though the website states it is an international hotel. 4. The website did not make it clear about the "D Club area" which limited the amount of loungers and the influx of locals at the weekends you need to clearly state this. 5. Both the breakfast and evening meal was very poor and they easily ran out of food as other guest just used to take so much food at anyone time and the food waste was just disgusting and the hotel really needs to look at this. We only had on chef offering meat on one night. The salad selection was very good and the desserts but for fruit other guest just raided it. 6. As the whole dining experience was awful we ate out twice during our trip and we would have more often if we could of found a restaurant you could walk to. 7. The bar area not enough seats again "D club area" 8. The aircon in the room controls was broken
