Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. This was such a charming apartment in an excellent location, perfect for exploring Levanto and Cinque Terre. Mattia was incredibly accommodating and welcoming, and we had everything we needed for a lovely stay.

Everything is perfect, the location is excellent, the room is very nice and convenient, and the host is very kind. Bonus points for the parking pass provided upon arrival!

Very comfortable accommodation in the centre of Levanto. We were so happy to base ourselves here to visit the Cinque Terre, as Levanto is a gorgeous seaside town with more to offer and less crowded than the Cinque Terre towns. Mattia was a great host and provided some excellent restaurant recommendations. The parking pass and beautiful focaccia were much appreciated.

Very central to the small town of Levanto. Very clean room and very quaint and very spacious. Host was very helpful with everything and you have to go to his foccaceria!!! Delicious!!

The location was fabulous and so was the room. Very peaceful and quiet too! Apartment was very clean, modern and well contained. Beautiful memories of a fabulous apartment with great facilities and a helpful,friendly host. Wonderful experience! Highly recommended.

Not really a "did not like" but more a suggestion for improvement: it would have been nice to have an extra bench / chair / cupboard to put our stuff (and not have it mostly on the floor) and keep the room tidy! Otherwise, really nice room.
Location was very convenient (within walking distance of the city center, or the train station). Host was absolutely adorable and helped us check-in at a very late hour + provided all kinds of recommendations that were all great).

maybe some softer pillows if I was to be really prickly. besides that. it was great

From the bar downstairs it was a bit noisy

On a not so good note : no free toiletries, no coffee available and no minibar in the room as per the list of facilities. The room is dark and we had the light on day and night as the only natural light comes from half a window. The wifi signal is weak and we ended up using our personal data allowance most of our stay. Also note there’s a pub a couple of blocks down the street (mad max pub) open Tuesday to Sunday until 2am (!!!). On Saturday night, the music was so loud that we couldn’t sleep. Something about the good insolation was mentioned in the description of the room but clearly it wasn’t enough. It’s an old building so not much to do to avoid the noise from the high street or the pub. Finally, a car park was supposed to be nearby but actually it was 5 minutes away and not a “real car park” but some blue spaces on each the side of Via XXV Aprile.
The room “Mon chéri” was very clean, spacious and the wardrobe was big. Great location, not on the main street but very close. In 10 minutes you’re by the sea or at the train station. Heating/Air con, fridge, kettle available in the room. Mattia was kind and helpful, he gave many advice on where to eat during our stay. He was also very reactive when answering my text message.
