The "short" way to the magnificent town square was up a cobblestone passageway that rose at a 40-degree angle. It was a free fitness program that did you the favour of making you spend your calories before eating them. Clearly, one of the reasons the citizens of the town are so fit.

Perhaps the most memorable reason for our enjoyment of this guest house was the hosts themselves. Dimora and Julio welcomed us into their well-appointed home with open arms, genuine warmth and attentiveness to our every need or question. They happily advised and educated us on the sights and their significance, as well as the great restaurants and shopping opportunities in the city. When we had difficulty finding the hotel due to road closures, Julio found us and guided us through the labyrinth of streets leading to our destination.

Staff, parking, breakfast, breakfast and public areas, bathroom, bed comfort, room size, ambiance and decor all exceeded high expectations. And ready access to a world class restaurant a 5 minute walk from the hotel was a n added bonus.

Dimora Fortebraccio is exactly what you wish for in a guest house in a historic town centre; a wonderfully comfortable and welcoming base with excellent hosts, in a great location. The house is beautifully restored after the 2009 earthquake, and Juliano and Rosa are so welcoming and helpful hosts. We hope to go back!

This hotel is actually a palazzo that has been lovingly restored and fitted with modern conveniences. It is gorgeous and impeccably done. Rooms are spacious. Hosts are wonderful. I can’t recommend enough!

Wished we had booked to stay longer

Everything! Outstanding hosts who were available when needed, made us so welcome and shared their knowledge of the sites and surroundings. Breakfast served on the terrace was fabulous and set us up for the day. Amazing rooms in an incredible location - walking distance to everything. Car parking on street. L’Aquila is a must see location and this property is THE place to stay! Can’t recommend this highly enough. Thank you Rosa and Giuliano.

It would be nice to have a great deal more coat hangers however this did not detract from the fact that we were asked if there was anything we needed and not to hesitate to call them - so we could have asked for more coat hangers.

We opted for no breakfast however it was offered to us many times. We were shown the breakfast area available for guests with rooms which was fabulous with a wonderful shaded terrace available for the beautiful mornings. We had an apartment which was equipped with our own kitchen and dining area with french doors allowing lots of light to enter. The location was perfect - in the historical zone but not in the absolute center. However it is very steep for a small section to reach the center's main square.

This was the cleanest hotel I stayed at. Everything was supplied in the apartment. We had coffee machine, washing machine small toiletries etc. It is very obvious that owners thought about everything for their guests to have a nice stay. They were also very kind to invite us to breakfast in our last day. I can only thank them for this nice stay.

What a surprise…this is a gem…it is an old property run by their owners, carefully and tastefully remodeled with fine details. Giuliano and Rosa are wonderful hosts and do everything to make you feel comfortable. Everything, location, quality, service, breakfast, room, facility are second to none.

This is a beautiful place, top to bottom. It is spotlessly clean, gorgeously decorated with beautiful bathrooms and comfortable beds. The breakfast was delicious. The hosts are absolutely lovely. The location is perfect. Absolutely wonderful place.

The only thing I saw missing was (maybe) hard-boiled eggs at breakfast! Personal preference, definitely an American thing.

We generally stay at full service Intercontinental, Marriott or Hilton properties, for leisure, several months a year. This place was the best all-around property we have stayed at in a long time. Great location, Great hosts, super clean, well appointed, everything was as new. As others have mentioned, don't think twice about booking here just feel comfortable doing it.

Communication was very poor, and no pre-arrival instructions sent to us. Even on the day of arrival it took several calls and messages before we managed to get hold of someone to check us in. Langauge was a serious problem as well with none of the staff able to converse in English.

The apartment is newly docorated with high quality finishes. The bed was very comfortable, the apartment conveniently located near the city centre and walking distance to many restaurants and bars.
