How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was lovely and very comfortable. Maria Luisa is a wonderful host, she was so friendly and helpful in telling us about nice places to eat and places to visit. Breakfast was amazing, so much food! Maria Luisa chose local Roman food to enrich our experience and ensured we were well catered for. Would highly recommend this B&B and hope to visit again one day.

It was amazing hospitality of host Maria, she was very accommodative and very helpful. Amazing hearty breakfast enjoyed few Italian brands which we won't have tried. If we visit Rome we will stay again.

Our stay was absolutely amazing, so happy we chose to stay at Maria's place. The room looked much better than in the picture. It was cleaned, and towels changed every day - a service that you get in a 5 star hotels. But what we like the most was the breakfast. In the morning, Maria goes to the market and gets the best local fresh ingredients, pastries from best pastry shop in Rome. She also uses organic certified ingredients and could not do enough to accommodate our stay. We could not imagine having been in Rome without meeting Maria - such a lovely and kind person. Grazie mille, Maria!

Maria was so accommodating and amazing. The breakfast was delicious and very abundant. The rooms and towels were cleaned everyday. I could not recommend this place enough!

The area wasn't very nice, but it was close to transports. The door wasn't well marked with any sign so at first we didn't find the entrance and we had to call the hostess to get in the first time.
We stayed at this B&B for 3 nights. The apartment consist of two bedrooms witch have their own bathrooms. The room was clean and fresh, the room and bathroom was cleaned every day. There is a common kitchen where the hostess prepare the amazing breakfasts. The best thing with this accommodation was the hostess! She made us different breakfast every morning with abundance of food as we desired and of her recommendation. She asked us what we wanted, made that specifically for us and some other dishes and some fruit and some cheese and some cold cut meats, and some yoghurt, and some sweets and... you get the picture! Our only regret was that we couldn't eat it all! She was very nice and helpful and gave us tips about where to go in Rome! Couldn't be happier! We arrived 2-3 hours later than expected in the evening, but she still greeted us happily. The apartment is near the central station and two metro stations, so it was easy to get to different part of the city.

Very good apartment with a lovely host. Perfect cleanness of room, towels replaced every day. Good localisation, close to the train and metro station. The best part was the breakfast. Truly Italian, king size and delicious breakfast. Maria Luisa was very generous and helpful.

Maria treated us so well. She made sure we were fed and taken care of. She kept our bathroom towels fresh and our room clean. She was very accommodating to our crazy travel schedules. She gave us great recommendations for things to do and how to get around. She was so kind to make sure dietary restrictions and preferences were cared for. We felt like long lost family that she hadn’t seen in years, and it was hard to say goodbye when it was time to leave.

The location was a bit unpleasant.
We were five nights at the hotel, Maria is a lovely host! Every evening she asked us what we would like for breakfast. The room was always clean and tidy every day.

The neighborhood outside looks a little rough, but just a couple of blocks away and you are in a nice neighborhood. With saying that, no one bothered us while we were there.
Our host was the absolute best! She could not be any nicer or accommodating. The breakfast was superb. If you have any dietary restrictions, just let her know in advance. The location was close to everything. From the airport, we took the city bus which dropped us off at the main rail station and walked about 20 minutes to the hotel. If we would have known in advance, we would have taken the metro line A and exited on Vittorio Emanuele. It’s just a few blocks to the flat.

Maria Luisa is kind, friendly, helpful and amazing host. Breakfast was delicious. Room was comfortable, very clean and cosy. Location itself is not so pretty, but it is close to railway station (train to airport) and all kinds of public transportation. It is also in walking distance from great restaurants.

The room we stayed in was a bit small. However, this was not a major issue for us.
We recently spent two delightful nights at the charming bed and breakfast, Dante. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness and tidiness of our room. Despite being a little small, it was well-maintained and had all the necessary amenities. The standout feature of our stay was undoubtedly the hostess, Maria. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and supported throughout our visit. Maria's warm and friendly nature made us feel right at home, and her genuine concern for our comfort was evident from the start. Her willingness to assist us with anything we needed was truly commendable. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional breakfast provided. We were pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of delicacies on offer. From freshly baked pastries to a selection of local specialties, the breakfast spread was truly outstanding. It was a great way to start our days, ensuring we were energized and ready to explore the beautiful city of Rome.

Needs to attend to Wi-Fi in Apt.
The area is rather run-down and especially when arriving at night by train it can be a bit intimidating. But the host is really attentive and kind.
