How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewClean apartment with a wonderful terrace. Not a bad location (15-20 minutes walk to the old town). There are umbrellas in the common area which really helped out on the last day.
The batteries in the TV remote need to be changed. For people who also don't immediately understand where the entrance to the building is, I'm attaching a photo.

Verified reviewWe had a great time at the Dama suite. The bed and the pillows were super comfortable, the room is quiet, has AC which works fine and it is very spacious. Good location - close to Bari Centrale and Old Town. The bathroom is small but it was okay for us. The hosts own a restaurant close to the apartment and you can get a discount there which I highly recommend- the food was superb and we felt very welcome :)
The bathroom gets humid sometimes.

Verified reviewThe room is very clean, new and has nice interior.. There are basic things in it - fridge, microwave, coffee machine, glasses, iron, tv, air-condition. Very comfortable bad. Good location, though not very central - 15-18 min walk to everywhere. The rental agency is nice, but they have working hours.
Very noisy all the time - day and night! It is almost impossible to sleep in open window, and if you do not like to sleep in airconditioning, it is a problem. Too basic equipped, there were no shower gel and shampoo (but there were shower cups!), only hand wash. Not a single plate. You cannot open the hole bathroom door, it stucks into the sink, it is not a big problem, but it is not ok. For the first time ever since booking my nights, there was nothing for welcome. Not even a single bottle of water (which would be enough). The location is ok, though pay attention it is 500 m from station, but not from Bari Centrale (1.2 km).

Verified reviewThe room looks exactly like the pictures, it is a good size, very clean, comfortable bed and pillows, quiet, no noise coming from the street. Easy self check-in. It's a good value for money, walking distance from the city center or the main train station (15min walk), very good restaurant choices near by. Coffee shop downstairs serving very good coffee. We enjoyed our stay here and recommend the location.
The building staircase is a bit old and not so welcoming, the bathroom is small, but fully functional. No cleaning is available for stays under 4 nights, but that is mentioned upon arrival.

Verified reviewUpon arrival with my daughter, the door to the frontdoor of the building did not open, and we had to wait outside for 10 min, before it was arranged from a distance by the agency in their office (1 km distance or so). Then we got to the 2nd floor, and the key box did not open so we could not enter the accommodation. This took also a bit time to fix. Then, throughout our stay and often, also the inner door to the apartment did not open. Once, the owner came to fix it, but the same problem happened again. Finally, I had to open another box to get a spare key which I had with me throughout my whole stay. I selected this apartment, due to the availability of a sofa bed (soda advertised as soda bed) to allow to have a 2nd bed as my daughter would stay with me for one night. However, there was no linen for the sofa bed. When I asked the agency, they said that if I now change my plans, I have to pay an additional 30 EUR for the linen. The bit arrogant reply is unjustified: the apartment was advertised as having a sofa bed. Then there should be linen of course to use it for sleeping. Before arriving, one gets a long whatsapp with all the instructions. The WIFI code in that whatsapp appeared incorrect. I had to chase the agency for getting the correct one, to be able to use my laptop (there was also a QR-code which worked with my mobile but I could not retrieve the WIFI code from my mobile). The agreement was that the tourist tax should be paid on site. But the agency wanted us to bring the tax to their office which is a 15 min walk away. At some point, I had no warm water in the shower. The reason appeared to be that I accidently pushed a button, next to the light button, outside the bathroom. It is not explained that this button controls warm water supply. I discovered this by contact with the agency, but my cold shower was already done. To be clear: the room itself and the location are ok, and the bed sleeps well. But next time I take a hotel.

Verified reviewVery comfortable stay close to the city center and 15 min by foot from the train station. Quite a big room with super new furniture, little helpful details all over, and equipped with quite everything you would need for a short or extended stay. Very clean, especially the bathroom. Although on a streetside, the room is on a higher floor, and the little balcony door seems to be soundproofed; nothing was hearable. Close by are lots of cafes, and around the corner are two supermarkets. The owner also has a travel agency and might offer you special tours; they are also very responsive. Highly recommendable!
Nothing really, to consider maybe that as the building does not have a lift and the room is on the third floor.
