Whilst nothing to look at from the outside, this family run business was outstanding in every way. An absolute hidden gem- and the restaurant was absolutely full (of locals?) even on a Wednesday night. It’s worth staying here just for the food- the “tasting menu” if really just an opportunity to try some fantastic home cooking by a clearly talented chef, and you can hardly believe the extensive wine list for such a small establishment. We were recommended a €30 red as we were on a budget, and it was outstanding- showed up as £27/bottle in the UK so phenomenal value for money. We also started with a couple of (very) generous glasses of a local sparkling wine at €5.50 and it was delicious too. Conveniently located for the town centre, and comfortable rooms. Try it- you’ll not be disappointed.

A few glasses in the room would have been nice for my convenience.

The staff at Cortiletto d'Alba were extremely friendly and helpful. During my stay, Agnes—who was managing breakfast—went above and beyond to assist me, especially as I was impacted by the ongoing train strike. Her kindness and support truly made a difference. This is a very service-oriented establishment that strikes a perfect balance: professional and attentive without being intrusive. The breakfast selection was excellent, offering a variety of options I hadn’t seen before, all presented hygienically and thoughtfully. They also kindly accommodated my early check-in, which I greatly appreciated. I felt genuinely cared for and well looked after throughout my stay. Thank you, Agnes, for your exceptional hospitality!

Excellently located in the beautiful city of Alba, this small family-run hotel is a real gem. Owner/manager Marisa was most attentive and helpful, including organizing the transportation of my luggage to the next stop in my solo hiking trek. Breakfast was rich and plentiful, and dinner was all that one could hope for from a family style Piemontese restaurant. When I return to Alba this will be my hotel of choice.

Everything was fine.

Excellent location - easy walking distance to the centre. Plenty of free parking nearby (might be harder to find free parking during the truffle festival- something to think about). The staff were lovely, cheerful, helpful. The room was spotless, cosy, well ventilated, quiet even though it faced the street. AC worked. We ate at the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food was delicious, and we had excellent advice on wines. Breakfast was great, lots of choice, something for everyone. The decor was really fun - tons of original artwork everywhere, as well as hand painted vines and flowers on the walls.

been on long roads trip through France and Italy and this was by favourite hotel. Staff superb, friendly and helpful. Room was v comfortable, lovely decor and good bathroom. If I was being really picky I would've preferred tea and coffee facilities but this was more than compensated for by a fantastic breakfast full of locally sourced products. I wish now I had eaten in the restaurant the night before. Superb. Highly recommended

Marisa the host was just fantastic! She helped us renting a car, and was so keen on showing us the way to the sunset in Barbaresco that she herself drove almost all the way up there! The food was amazing in the restaurant, the breakfast was good with excellent service
