How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The apartment was clean and well firnished, great location, you can see the coloseum down the Street! Great contact with the owner, she replied at once.I recommend this place !

It was noisy from time to time with people returning late in the evening.
The location was perfect for us and we could do all activities walking. Also had to on one occasion as there was a strike and no metro. The apartment had everything we needed.

A perfect apartment for exploring Rome. Everything was spotless and the host had thought of everything. Communication was fantastic and she couldn’t do enough to help us enjoy our stopover.

Colosseo Luxury Apartment was great choice for our stay in Rome. The location of the apartment is perfect. We came to Fiumicino airport, train to Rome Termini and easy walk to the apartment. We visited most attractions on foot. There was 5 of us, 2 adults, 2 child, and a baby. The couch was big enough for our kids (8 and 5), and the bed in the bedroom is wide for two of us and baby. The apartment was clean. It has everything you need. On arrival there were small nutellas for us, marmalade, croissants, and great coffee. The communication with the owner was really fast, she answers questions in a few moments. There are few good restaurants, gellateria, pasticceria in the street, the supermarket is 3 minutes away. You pick up keys by yourself on the location from the safe. We had a little problem with opening the apartment door, it has to be pulled hardly, but when you get it, it's not the problem.. Tips for the owner: - few tea spoons would be good to have - it would be good to clean kitchen hood - check the kettle, it's leaking - replace old tea bags - add instructions for opening apartment door when you send info about keys pickup

The apartment was in a great location being walking distance to the colosseum, metro and plenty of dining options. It felt very secure with private access only and Luisa was quick to respond to all our queries. Thank you for an excellent stay.

Couch matress is not that comfy, but enough to sleep through the night.
The location is great, few steps to Colosseo and the neighbourhood is full of bars and easy to access by public transportation. The owner left some snacks and drinks for Breakfast. The apartment has a lift, small but great to carry up luggage. Easy to park on the same street, especially on the weekends (free)

One of the worst stays I’ve had across 26 bookings in Italy — and unfortunately, it happened on the morning of my birthday. At 8:30 AM I was woken up by extremely loud, unauthorized construction noise directly outside the apartment — confirmed by the host as not legally permitted. It was impossible to rest or enjoy the stay. Later that morning, there was a power outage: no lights, no internet, no fridge — right when we needed to get ready. The host initially acknowledged the situation, but later refused even a partial refund and ignored Booking.com’s request for compensation. Unfortunately, Booking.com was also unable to help — they offered no real resolution and allowed the issue to drag on for weeks without action. This was a clear service failure, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone who expects basic comfort and accountability.
