How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was clean, staff was welcoming, location was great
It was hot inside the room, asked staff to turn ON the AC , he told that he did it but actually he didn’t. Window was open and mosquitos didn’t let me sleep at night. Secondly, mattress was expired, very uncomfortable.

Verified reviewI had a really nice stay at Grand Hostel Coconut. The location is perfect — just steps away from the tram, Lima metro station, and surrounded by restaurants and shops. It’s also only a few minutes’ walk from the central station and right next to Corso Buenos Aires, the main shopping street. The hostel itself is beautifully decorated, especially the rooftop garden which gives a very cozy vibe. I also loved the idea of having books everywhere around the hostel — it makes the atmosphere feel warm and welcoming. The room was spacious and included a sofa and a desk in addition to the bed, which made it very comfortable. The beds also have curtains for privacy, which is always a big plus in hostels. The bathroom on the third floor was also quite spacious and very nice. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially Boran, who made the stay even better. Highly recommend this hostel if you’re staying in Milan!

Verified reviewI came to concert so I just needed place to sleep and take a shower after and cannot tell everything. But from the first sight it seems beautiful. Cozy chill zone, terrace and on one of the floors sweet place with coach where you can sit and read books or something. Comfortable and big beds.
Little sign to find hostel so be sure to follow the map. I hated this lockers, gooood, they are so uncomfortable to use😂😂😂 Better to put just standing lockers or even sliding drawers but it is not big deal. Maybe it was just for me. It doesn’t relate to property but there was one guy who cleaned his teeth with opened door in early morning and it was very loud. If you are reading this comment, please tell me why you did like that😂

Verified reviewThe outdoor seats were cute
A lot. Nonexistent staff, mosquitos EVERYWHERE, bad hygiene and shady fellow mates, smelled really bad, no ac, linens were dirty. Quite possibly the worst place I have ever stayed in my life.

Verified reviewFab location as it’s only a 7 min walk to the train station. When you turn right at the hostel, you can walk straight into town, which makes a 25 min walk. I stayed there twice - once in a mixed dorm on the first floor, where the AC was incredibly loud and the vent was open. Second time in the female only dorm on the top floor, which was lovely. Beds are comfy overall, bathrooms are impeccably clean and staff are so kind and helpful! Kitchen is very cute and has everything you need! The building is sooo lovely and has got its old Milanese charm!
AC on the first floor was dodgy - curtains could go all around the bed and not leave one side open

Verified reviewI was only there one night but the lady at reception was very nice letting me leave my luggage early in the day to return late afternoon to check in.
A bit awkward getting ready at 6am disturbing other guests with luggage storage under the bed but I would still stay again it has a very nice bathroom

Verified reviewI stayed in a 4 bed all girls room, bed was comfortable and the curtains were great. The storage locker under the bed is massive, lots of room to store big luggage. Very close to the train station & seperate toilet and shower was amazing. Aircon was also great as it was 34 degrees when I was there.
Could have been more of a social vibe, they have really cute spaces that would be good to hang out in but didn’t seem like there were any events or anything going on.

Verified reviewIt has a good location, near the central station and other train line. There are several restaurants and grocery store also near. They provide you with a locker with its padlock so you can store your luggage. The beds have curtains, which represent more privacy. You can ask for the lower bed, if it's more comfortable for you. The towels are included, no extra charge.
The bathroom isn't ensuite. The shower is narrow, if you are not "regular size" you may not fit in. For the elevator, if someone doesn't close the door correctly you can't use it and have to go by stairs, so if you have luggage could be complicated.

Verified reviewFirst location , the property is very well located it’s a 5 mins walk from the M1 metro station and 7 min walk from the central station where you can easily join lac de como or bergamo . Also the tram 1 it’s a 2 mins walk . There’s a lot of shops near , you can also find a sephora , kiko milano , terra nova The lady at the reception was the sweetest The rooms and toilets where very clean The room is quite big and the beds are confortable There were AC , so don’t worry during heatwaves. I’d recommend, if i come back to milano i’ll stay there for sure
