How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLoved this place and ran by exceptionally lovely, professional people. Very comfortable, very quiet, I had decent sleep every night and didnt hear any noise from outside or neighbouring residents. Benedetta and Riccardo were available on WhatsApp any time of the day if I needed them, very helpful when I struggled to get a taxi on our last day, they dont just leave you to struggle even once checked out. Cleaner was lovely & kept rooms in top condition. Close to the Arena, we did most of our commutes on foot or hopped on an eScooter. Perfect location. There are some local cafes and restaurant which are much cheaper than the touristy piazza area by the way.

Verified reviewRoom was very well styled and good sized. Bathroom was spacious and verything was great. Coffer in the morning from the machine was a nice touch and a couple of snacks for breaky was really appreciated.
The distance from the train station was a but longer than expected but the location to the old town was perfect.

Dear guest, we're located in one of the most charming neighborhoods in the historic center, and the Arena is just a 15-minute walk away. During daily housekeeping, we replace everything that's used up in the room, including toilet paper. The spare toilet paper was in the closet in the room. 🙈 In any case, you just had to let me know and I would have taken care of your needs immediately. 😊

It’s ground floor, you don’t really have the option to open the windows, but for 1 night it doesn’t matter. Air conditioning is centralized/fixed. After payment property will contact you at WhatsApp and request to send photos and all the details of your IDs. They will tell you that until you send all info you won’t have access to the room. If you delete this information from the messenger in several hours after check-in (as no one guarantees you any privacy of your data), they will message you at midnight demanding explanation. Overall horrible communication experience tbh.
I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience with us, but I don't understand what you're talking about. Italian law requires all accommodations to register guests' documents before allowing them into their rooms, and this is to ensure everyone's safety! The police need to know who I'm hosting to ensure the safety of the community. We send the necessary messages to receive the code to enter the room at the time of booking. I sent you countless messages asking you to send me your documents so I can review the code to enter the room, and you NEVER responded. I sent you countless messages many days before the check-in date, and you NEVER responded. You showed up at midnight demanding to be allowed into the room without showing your documents. I sent you the messages on BOOKING, the place where you booked, so you received my messages, but out of negligence or laziness, you deliberately chose not to respond. We ask for the documents in advance precisely to allow you to do the "self check-in" which even you in your review define as "convenient" I don't understand how you can call communication with us "terrible" when you yourself refused to read and respond to our messages (the messages I sent you were just a few lines long, so there wasn't much to read).

Verified reviewOur room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The room might get noisy if you have noisy neighbours, but that did not happen to us. We had a very peaceful stay. The coffee machine made a huge difference, too. There is also a kettle to boil water, different types of teas, a mini fridge, cups and mugs... The AC is a huge plus during the scorching hot days of Verona. Overall, we had a great stay.
Nothing to complain for us. We were highly pleased with the room.

Verified reviewWe had an amazing few days staying at this property. It was clean, excellent air con, beautifully decorated, lovely big bathroom and comfortable bed. Snacks in room were great and breakfast at a local cafe was very good. The hosts were first class, always responded quickly to any messages/requests and were extremely helpful. We would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back when next in Verona.

Verified reviewEverything in terms of the room, design comfort was good. Communication was outstanding and everything we needed was shared ahead of time. Toilet was huge, room was really big and comfortable.
Car parking I had to walk for 10 min from the nearest available parking spot at that time. 7am outside of our window there was a bunch of kids shouting non stop as if they were in my bed. It appeared that it was a bus stop just at the window side. It was so loud, annoying, and frustrating.
Thank you for your review, unfortunately it is not up to us to find the choice of parking on the street or in a private parking lot, most of our customers park in the street that we indicate before arriving and it is about 2 minutes walk. We are sorry for the kids on the street, today in Italy is the last day of school, they probably started celebrating from early in the morning ☺️ Sorry for your low score in the location section, we are 10 minutes walk from the Arena and the San Zeno district is one of the most appreciated areas by Veronese and tourists for its strategic position and the wonderful tradition and uniqueness that distinguishes it 😊

Shower isn’t well sealed so there is quite a bit of water spilling out. Very minor detail that wouldn’t influence my decision to stay here again!
